Now that you're out & free of the WTS, (borg) what are your future plans and/ or dreams?

WHere do you see yourself 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years from now?

How many are happy with their carreers/jobs?

How many are pursuing College Degrees? In what?

How many Want/have kids? Have/Want grandchildren?

Do you voluneer at non-profit organizations?

    Do you have hobbies?

Do you like to travel? Where do you travel or would like to travel?

Growing up as a JW, (learned the trvth @ 8 y. o.) I never thougth I'd graduate from High School (1989), get married or have children.

I never thought of a "worldy" career or "wordly" education. Now I have a daughter, (from my marriage to a JW-happily divorced), I finished a double major & I'm about to become a graduate student.

If anyone would have told me back in 1989 when I graduated from High School that I was going to attend a Univeristy I would have not believed it. - My how things change.

What are your dreams? What are your future goals?

CAPP, congratulations on your new life. I've always thought getting a higher education was nothing to do with being "worldly" or being "enmity" with God.

For me I do love my job. In fact I would keep it until I die. ;-) I know some very active piano teachers in their 80s; they are still working full-time. Since I'm not a JW anymore, I would like to be more active in performing as well.

I also would like to get married and have children in the future. And I would like to have a nice cozzy house where the whole family can gather for dinner several times a year. Having a nice garden would be good, too. I'm living in an apartment. I do have several pots of plants including tomato, strawberry, thyme, rosemary, chives....etc.

And I would like to live as a decent person showing a good Christian quality.

I hope my last comment doesn't offend anyone. ;-)

10 years, I'd like to be ready for retirement and living easy for once.

20 years, I'd like to be well into retirement and living life easily.

30 years, I'd like have enough soundness of mind left to be enjoying retirement and living easily

40 years, I'd just like to still be alive

50 years, At a hundred and three, I don't think I'll be worrying about living life easily anymore.

In one year I plan to have my master degree, in History. I am writing my final thesis about the borg, so that should be fun

And from that, just living life to the max. Enjoying every breath I take, living a life full of people I love, and people who love me.

    Just being Happy.

I like this thread, because being out of the borg has opened so many new possibilities, all totaling a much happier life. I'm starting college in two weeks and plan to pursue a career in social services, hopefully child protective services. I currently volunteer my Saturdays at a soup kitched (have been doing that since January) and Sunday afternoons at an animal shelter (been doing that since October). The satisfaction I've gotten from these two venues far outway all the years I spent knocking on doors. Now I'm truly helping other people.

At age 23, 20 years ago, I made my first steps away from the Watchtower. For 7 more years I was inactive, sporadic meeting attender, but most of my friends were still Witnesses. At 30 I was DFed.

Now, after 20 years of a successful Career in Banking, I am pursuing a degree in my first love, Mathematics, with an emphasis on Statistics. I hope to stay in school long enough to earn my Doctorate. I start my senior year at the end of August.
