    JoelBear,

As a kid I was always very good at math/algebra. I took the Graduate Review Exam, GRE, last year and my best scores were analytical, followed by Verbal then Quatitative, that is math.

I've concentrated on Language & my scores prove that I actually have learned something. My mom wants to invest abut 50K. Do you have any suggestions?

    Writerpen,

Congratulations on starting college. You must have a BIG heart if you're going into social services. I did an internship 2 years ago at Child Protection Services, for one quarter- 2 hours per day. It was alot of work. Being a mom, I'd go home & worry at night about the CPS children.

The one thing that made me feel better was that I was making a difference in their lives. For example, this child who was 6 years old waited for her mom to show up for the visitation. The mom never called & never showed up.

THe poor little girl was very sad. We then went to McDonalds and she had a Happy meal with an ice cream. Her smile as she ate the ice cream made me feel better inside.

    Dakota Red,

Retirement sounds so good. Everyone I know from Washington leaves to the South West. Even my mom just moved to the SW.

    SunshineTOO,

So are you a piano teacher @ a local school, or do you have your own studio?

At my daughters' school they don't start music until the 5th grade. I had already told her that I'm going to her her music lessons. She had once asked for piano lessons but now she says she wants to play the guitar. I'm open minded & I'll let he choose her own instrument.

The only song I can play on the piano is "twinkle, twinkle, little star". Are you familiar with Jim Brickman's music?

I live in a duples (sort of an apt). I'll be shopping for a home in about 1 year and 1/2 as soon as I know in what City/Hospital I'll be working in.

I love gardens. My daughter and I planted bulbs & we had lots of tulips in pots. Then we planted petunias, mary golds & lots of wild flowers. I also have an oregano & peppermint plant & a coffee plant that was given to me by my mother for graduation. I hope it survives the winter here. I'll have to bring it inside & get a plant light for it.

Kids are fun but they are also a lot of work. Yesterday, I had 5 neighborhood kids over to dinnner plus my daughter. Only one girl got to spend the night.

One time at the KH, the brother was talking about the memorial & my daughter, was little, said realy loud, MOM, WHO DIED? I then said, "Christ Jesus". She then replied, "Wasn't that a long time ago?" I thought her comment was so funny (cause of her age) but the brothers looked at me like I wasn't doing a job teaching her.

    6 years...get laid.

    24 years...get laid.

    48 years...get laid.

    72 years...get laid.

I'm glad you've got you're priorities in order SYN! LOL!

I too graduated from High School in 1989 and was convinced the end would come before too long....

Next year I will graduated with my Batchelor's Degree (finally). And I work as an engineer developing new applications. I never thought I was remotely smart enough to do these sorts of things when I was in the borg. (I don't think anyone within the organization, including my own parents, thought I was smart enough either)

In 5 years I want to have at least started my M.B.A. and maybe (gasp) have already started a family.

In 10 years join the ranks of top managment somewhere, or branch out on my own - though I'm pretty happy where I am now.

In 20 years look forward to ...hey, who knows?
