Your future dreams ( 5/10/20 yrs) -after the borg

  In five years I hope to be -----an elementary school teacher!

  That's been my dream since Kindergarden.

  After high-school, my heart wanted to go to college so much, but I bought into the whole idea of

  "PIONEER" "Don't waste your youth in worldly pursuits" blah blah blah

  Of course my opportunity is now. My girls will be off in school and I'll get to be in "school" too. Don't have a clue how to go about it. Don't have a clue what is a semester hour. Don't know how expensive it will be or how I'll pay for it. I imagine it's expensive. How can I make it a reality without incurring debt? Did all of you get scholarships?

  If you are in the US do a web search for FAFSA (Federal Application for Student Aid). You can fill it out on line.

  You'll your taxes information. If you make under $49,000 per year U.S. you'll get some kind of finanancial aid. Pell Grants & State grants is free money that you don't have to pay. Most colleges have a priority deadline for these (First come first serve) that is in Early February. Next Feb would be for school year 2003/2004.

  It's not too late to apply for this fall qtr go for it. Go speak to the financial aid office at your local community college.

  Start out (saves lots of money) @ a community 2 year college then transfer out to a 4 year university.

  If you have kids, don't burn yourself out take it slow.

  I figured I had the choice to be poor for the rest of my life or for 6 years while I finished my masters degree.

  There are also lots of classes that you can take online. I prefer being in a classroom. I'll actually have Speech/Language Clients this fall.

  In 5 yrs I hope the rest of my kids treat me ok.

  In 10 yrs I hope my nieces and nephews will speak to me. Their parents my bro. will be dead by then

  In 15 yrs I hope there is no wbts and every one will speak to me. Sooner would be ok.

  In 20 yrs I will be 86 and I don't think I will give a damn.

  IN THE MEANTIME I am going to enjoy life and have a grand old time with my new found freedom.
