Commendable, I dont know what part of the world you are from but I can relate to that and I do know many JWs who feel the way you do. I also know many who do not.

I dont think its so much about JWs as individuals as much as you might think it is.

Obviously in order for anyone to become involved in a religion that ministers about peace love and harmony that is a clear indication to me anyway that they are looking for something better then what they have found in the world in other places. Evil people dont go around looking for peace love and harmony.

As brother Russell said show us a better way to live and we want to be the first to know about it.

For many of us on this board that is exactly what has happened to the society. It has become a bundle and no longer respects its members or allows then exercising their own conscience. We are, according to Jesus, supposed to regularly exercise our conscience in our everyday lives. Now we have to check with a committee of a few men when it comes to matters of the conscience, not even the congregation is involved anymore. There is something wrong with that picture.

And why are you not putting up on your site the millions of stories about those that are living happy lives within the association of brothers worldwide.

You probably dont see a lot of happily ever afters here because those who have good relationships with in the org (sorry Im not a star trek fan) Have each other still and dont need a place like this.

This site is here for good reason. When one is thrown out or when one has a need to discuss an opinion about the WTS or when one needs a shoulder to cry on because their family will no longer recognize them as even being alive, where else are they to go? And please do not answer that with PRAY MORE

God created us in his image did he not? (For those who still believe) God is the Greatest of all things living and if he cant stand being alone and isolated then it is obviously not a good thing for us humans to be alone and isolated.

As far as I can tell they both do not but merely tell him where to get off. And even tell him what they think of him.

Like it or not there is both evil and good in our lives and it wont go away by simply ignoring someone you may consider bad association.

A lot of people come here and say horrible things from time to time but we all for the most part have family and loved ones that might even be in your very congregation. I do not consider any of my family evil people. In many ways they are some of the nicist people I know. But they do have an alegence too the WT%S that I do not share.

In some eyes I am apostate. In other eyes I am confused. In my eyes I am neither. It's that simple.

You will get some very angry responses because there are many STILL angry folks for various reasons.

I stopped being angry but I also have many years of being angry behind me.

Do you mean like the society does with the Catholics..............and ALL other religions? How many times does the society talk about the happy lives of people in other churches? Never! They ONLY exploit them. You have an entire section in the reasoning book on what to say when people say "I have my own religion"

Religion is exploited for not knowing Jah's name or his purpose for the earth.....they are ALL doomed for destruction as they are ALL part of Satans organisation according to the dubs.

I agree that this guy is on his way out. He doesn't know it yet. He doesn't even understand yet what a failure he will be considered if his kids choose NOT to become JWs. AND he doesn't realize that they will be treated badly if they don't "take a stand for the truth." But he will. And we will welcome him here at Simon's graciously provided site when he does. Heck, we'll welcome him NOW!

I would have to say the Jehovah's Witnesses elevate themselves, twist scripture, deny the mediatorship of Christ, limit the New Covenant, change doctrines frequently, encourage others to be critical of the church they attend while denying anyone the right to be critical of the Jehovah's Witness organization. Many of them shun their own mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters and treat them as dead, not for a sin but for being critical of the idol they have made, "The Organization." In fact they are urged to "Hate" them. They have substituted a man made "Society" for true Christianity.
From pinpointing the return of an invisible Christ in 1914 to the denial of Christ as mediator for all men, they preach a DIFFERENT GOSPEL than was preached by Paul and and I think the following scripture applies to them:

Galatians chapt. 1:7 But it is not another; only there are certain ones who are causing YOU trouble and wanting to pervert the good news about the Christ. 8 However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to YOU as good news something beyond what we declared to YOU as good news, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said above, I also now say again, Whoever it is that is declaring to YOU as good news something beyond what YOU accepted, let him be accursed.

Don't accept men or an organization as a go between, a mediator between you and God. Remember how the Watchtower quoted the scripture in explaining it?

It really reads "There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man Christ Jesus, who gave himself a corresponding ransom for all."1 Tim. 2:5, 6.

They teach a different gospel. They are accursed. If you really do go by your own conscience look closely and then GET OUT. You can't clean up the hogs by wallowing with them.

Jehovahs Witnesses are on eof the fastest growing christian faiths in the world today.

I thought only witnesses were Christian? I recall when I last attended they made the claim that they were the fastest growing, now only one of them? Also they are stagnent. The numbers are decreasing in many countries these days. Of course the spin for that will be another scripture won't it?

Thank you, Simon for this site. I desperately needed an outlet for my questions about the WTS, to express myself freely without fear of judgement. True, there are angry people here. At least here, I have the freedom to listen to both sides and "take the meat and spit out the bones".

Isn't there something odd about an organization that needs to instruct its members to be happy, since "Jehovah is a happy God?"

What about the "bad experience" of civilian service? J.W's suffered and died for that law which was promulgated by the governing body for many years, and then quietly abandoned. Not only did the g.b. not admit their bloodguilt, but blamed the victims for their own "Over-strict" interpretation. They did the same with 1975 and "generation" - the list is endless. The only way you can be a happy j.w. is to live in a state of constant denial - very difficult unless you have the memory of a goldfish.
