I'm sure there are some happy witnesses somewhere. I remember the drive for 'the kingdom smile' which I was told to wipe on my face several times. A brother used to tell me in the 1970s, "the paradise is so close, you can almost reach out and touch it". I guess that's what the poor brothers were told at the end of the 1800s. Some people like YOU KNOW seem to be able to make it from terroist act to financial slump living on the edge of their seats that "THIS IS IT". Unfortunately, I couldn't take that year in year out. It was only when they did me the favour of disfellowshipping me that I felt truly happy and eventually left the anti-depressants behind also.
Sure, I can think of a few anecdotal stories of happy days while in the organisation, but once you have seen for yourself the under current of hypocrasy, double standards, split families, and the fact that a huge proportion of witnesses lead double lives and then go through the 'loving' disfellowshipping process, there seems little point telling the happy stories as you suggest. They simply pale into insignificance.
