The WTS could announce tomorrow that the GT will "likely" start in 2011, preceding BigA in 2014, and their numbers would top 10 Million by 2005.

As much as I enjoy "taking shots" at them using their UN and Pedo scandals, I STILL TRY TO MAINTAIN PERSPECTIVE and some semblance of reality.

Even the UN and Pedo scandals have accomplished no more than "pissing on a forest fire".

Two weekends ago I spoke with a relative who is an Elder who lives in a city whose newspaper has published all of the AP SilentLambs articles.

He was laughing because the publicity from those articles has motivated 2 inactive families totaling 6 people to return to the KH. He also said that he knew of another inactive family in another cong that had returned due to the newspaper articles re-stirring their interest.

Folks, YOU CAN'T BEAT A MIND-CONTROL CULT that meets the needs of people with various mental problems.

For those of us that have been around for generations, I would say that nearly everyone is on automatic pilot. There's NO zeal, NO fire. There's just a going thru the motions. No real happiness.....the glory days ARE over.

Hey ErieGuy, did you read my statistics? They certainly don't support your assertions. For example, the 1975 fiasco, had no effects whatsoever, on the long term trend of a decline in growth. For the last five years there has been zero growth in 24 countries. They are not even keeping up with population growth in these countries.

We were talking about facts. The WTS is definitely in a funk. You are merely speculating.

Even if you are right, what would happen to those numbers in the year 2006? How many times can a cult get away with false prophecy? I say there's a limit and the WTS has just about if not already reached it. After 125 years of false prophecies with not even ONE being right, even some braindead people start to get a clue.

ErieGuy has a good point, if they did make an announcement like that the Sheeple would definitely be spurred into action - however, the Governing Body are ALSO smart enough to realize that in these modern times, with the amount of bad publicity a failed prediction woudl get them, they would be TOTALLY screwed when the date rolled around and nothing happened.

So, they're stuck between a rock and a hard place - they cannot make a prediction, because it would kill them off in a time-span of a few years or possibly a decade, so their only choice is to slowly run down. I'm going to whack my thread-posting limit today for sure! I just got another great idea for a thread!
