As someone else suggested, you should suggest to Joshua that he invite some schoolmates over to his house, and play out the front so that the neighbours can see him, and see that he has other friends, and that he's having fun with his friends. It will be good for Joshua, and it will be good for the others to see that he's still able to have fun, despite the actions of that nutty mother.
It is a shame that all 5 kids can't play together. Those girls were really nice.
