It really burned the F**k out of me when I read that her JW parents burned all her baby photos in front of her, calling her "dead" or "cut off." What JW love!

I am feeling sick right now..............

Years ago I was aquainted with a young woman, Jeneane(sp?) who could not live by her parents rules. So, at 16 years old, she moved out of her folks home in the 'burbs and into the big city, San Francisco. I drove her and her few belongings to a seedy hotel in the Tenderloin district (a slum area w/ hookers and hustlers on the corners, drugs everywhere) where she had decided to stay. I occaionally asked about her. She was managing, barely. When she turned 18, she got a job doing phone sex. The next news I had of her was that she had jumped of the Golden Gate Bridge. When the boat got to her, she was still alive. When they tried to pull her out of the water, she resisted. She later died of exposure.

What was is that pushed so far? She was raised as a Mormon and she was going to be officially kicked out of the church. She could not tolerate the idea of having no contact with her family. So she killed herself. She was the oldest of several children.

Later, I was told that her parents had vowed that they would not be so hard on the rest of their children.

Regarding this... individual who burned Chantelles' baby pictures -- I wish I did believe in Hellfire. I would at least have the satisfaction of knowing where she would be spending her afterlife. And as for the WTBTS, I wish that they could be forced to experience all the agony and despair that they have inflicted upon so many people. Then they can go to hell.

I am drenched in sweat. I'm trying to not shake so that I can type this. I am so angry.

Perhaps a book about people, especially young people, who have been driven to such extremes by these kinds of organizations.

I am becoming to upset.

Totally devestating news. To take ones life because life is preceived to be difficult to cope is one thing (bad enough), but to take it because your parents think of you as 'dead' and burn your pictures in front of you.... to a teenager that is unbearable ... WHAT IS WRONG WITH THOSE HEARTLESS PARENTS!!

I'm just sick......someone earlier got it right, another lamb silenced.

At this weekend's march, I hope there are signs that recognize the 'other lambs' too (those abused and those who were FORCED to take their lives)...just too sad.

I am so angry and so sad at the same time. What a way to parent a child-- by driving them to take their own life.

I hope now she has found peace, and send my love to the family that REALLY cared.

WHILE I understand the anger toward these parents there is a much larger point that must not be missed. One must ask what type of indoctrination leads to this type of behavoir. Thier ations really drives home the point as to why it is so important for the wt to control the flow of information that jw are exposed to.

we all recall how we were being told that such actions would make them realize what they were losing and come back "to jehovah" so many parents who didn't really want to were indoctrinated to feel that it was also a test of their faith

recently we read here that the wt will -RE-INDOCTRINATE that point again with the Korah story

as an elder i recall giving local needs parts on HOW TO TREAT DF FAMILY AND FRIENDS

and the need to stick to "Jehovah's" standards

it is amazing how with the stroke of a pen the wt is able to cause millions of folks to change their entire beliefs

some of you old timers may recall a time when UNBAPTIZED PUBLISHERS COULD BE "DFed" in a sense - my sister fell under that OLD RULE she got pregnat at 15 never baptized but under the OLD RULES and she was treated and shunned like a baptize persons

the a few years ago they REDEFINED AN APPROVED ASSOCIATE,ETC and state we merely treat them like a man of the nations we can speak to them, etc like the guy next door

COMPLETE shunning WAS ONLY for baptized dfed folks

so for years my sister was treated like sh!t UNTIL the new rules came out then the folks in the hall were slapping her on the back.

yes the powerful indoctrination process of wt goes beyond blood ties

same with these parents While many may dog them for what they have done and perhaps rightly so in on sense, can you imagine the pain they will have in a few years if they realize this AIN'T THE TRUTH - they will feel that they helped kill thier own daughter

my question to all of you esp those who are dogging them while they are under the influence of wt drugs- would you be able to welcome them if they next month realize what they have done and leave the org

could you welcome them or would you dog them
