I have been aware of this for sometime and I know she has good counsel ...... I wondered when this would be made or if it would be made in public .... this is going to be huge if the lamestream press picks it up .... I hope people prepare this lady for the attention she may receive - may it be legal or news media.

This accusation ranks with Bill starting the 23,720 database number on his web site. Even though the number has yet to be proven, the database has been proven and the number has been reported in the media. I see a similar event happening here that will bring a lot of harm to the heirarchy of the WTS.

Bill, I hope you made sure Linda's crew got this on tape. I will talk to her next week to see if she will go with it.

Oh ... BTW ... Teddy, if you are reading .... there is NO statute of limitations on rape where you apparently did this .....

This is another one of those accounts that makes me so angry about JWs and sexual assault. There was no way that the victim could ever have pursued prosecution. If children have trouble reporting sexual assault/molestation now do you think anyone would have heard a 10 year old girl 40 years ago? I agree with you. Even a couple of years ago on this forum - victims/survivors were asked to be quiet sometimes (quite strongly too) for speaking about their accounts of being raped as children. "We really don't need to read about such unpleasantness" was a quote I'll never forget.

#1 - she would not have been believed no matter who the person - VAST majority of time.

#2 - NO JW would have believed that God's spokesperson on earth even COULD rape a child. And they knew that none would actually ever do anything "so unpleasant."

She has been tormented by this since childhood and continues to be raped emotionally by the congregation elders (I personally know some of the elders in the congregation this woman most recently associated with). It would give her (and many more of us) great satisfaction if this could have been prosecuted. This victim would just like to have some peace. -Mrs Rocky

It's hell to remain silent and see the rapist continue rising in power. "Waiting on Jehovah" brings no peace.....just stagnation, pain and anger.

I am surprised Henschel has been mentioned in the report about the march. Last thing I heard was that he is terribly ill (Alzheimer's or something like that) and does not even recognize anyone.

You are right. The fellow who called me yesterday, said he walks, stooped, over and has to have assitance to get around. He is feeble and demented. Sad. My Dad is like that, and it isn't nice. I feel sorry for anyone who has to go through their last days that way.

If that is the case, then she should be able to take this accusation to the judicial system, rather than just tell people about it. I'm sorry, but I do not believe any accusation without knowing the full details and history of each person, or cold hard evidence. As far as I am concerned continued talk about this is slander. I understand that the worst thing for a rape victim is to not be believed. That is why it is important that they relay their account to those in a position to verify or investigate it. On the other hand, one of the worst things to happen to an innocent person is to be accused of child molestation, so that should be considered as well. To tell people second hand on a public discussion board is really pushing it.

I'm sorry, but that is far from believable evidence. I'm certainly not going to label anyone a chold molester, simply because you have never lied on this forum and you can confirm that their "hands aren't clean." I've never seen Mulan or Hawk lie on here either, but that does not confirm whether or not someone is a child molester. I don't think I have ever lied on here, so what does that imply? Absolutely nothing. Being mistaken does not require lying, so we are all suspect for being wrong. Besides, isn't this the same logic that JWs get you to believe in God's prophecies?

This is a good thread, Mulan, and thanks for posting it. Even though I was there, I like reading what others have said. I hope "alamb" will spread around that FBI info in this thread. I read a thread earlier where someone wrote the FBI is not interested in this in the least bit, and after Waco, TX, the FBI would never touch another religious group, etc.

Also I especially appreciate the backup of Pat by you ladies. There is way tooo much criticizing going on about her right to "take her power back" at the March and tell of her abuse. It is not slander if it is true. She says it IS true. If it isn't true, let JARACZ PROVE IT. The victim doesn't have to prove it to us (and not in a civil case either). Funny how it's the men on this forum who seem to be the most concerned about Pat's right to speak out at the Silentlambs March, and to name her abuser. Why not have faith in silentlambs and Bill and Pat and the attorneys backing them?

I'm sorry Grits, but I believe you are wrong. Although the burden of proof isn't as difficult as a criminal case where the prosecutors must provide proof "beyond a reasonable doubt", there still is a level of proof needed. In a civil lawsuit, the plaintiff's case must be proved by a preponderance of evidence, meaning that the plaintiff must convince the judge or jury that his or her version of the facts is more likely than not and that he or she is entitled to judgment. This degree of proof is sometimes called presenting a prima facie case, or "crossing the 51 percent line", because the plaintiff must outprove the defendant by more than half the evidence.

So just because someone yells out a claim at a march, doesn't mean it is true until the accused proves otherwise. Unless she is willing to take this to either civil or criminal charges, I have to assume it is not true.
