I find that many JWs who would rather choke that say a swear word, will gossip about others in the congregation without a qualm of conscience. They will talk about how so-and-so is so materialistic, they just bought a new house, car, dress, etc. Or how so-and-so's children dress so "wordly" and it won't be long when they are out the door and/or pregnant. Or how so-and-so says they are sick and they are probably recovering from a hangover saying they smelled alcohol on their breath. And then, oh, it's their turn to go on a return visit and share the sweet things of God from the same foul mouth.
If someone can refrain from gossip and slander, and occasionally let's out a h**l or f**k (though I don't really like that word), I can handle that. We must not be straining out the gnats, but gulping down the camels.

Please don't get me started on the "materalistic" thing. That was one of main reasons I left and gossip as well.
If you want to hear more e-mail me I don't want to tie up this thread. I got so sick of people minding my business for me because my family had money.

Well if you wanna hear swearing and cursing, then get out the movie "Shaft"...great movie...heaps of MF'ing...but it didn't deter me from enjoying the movie.
I gotta say, that if I'm with a crowd who swear, then I can carry my own, no flies on me, and if the cap fits, I'll wear it....but I never swear in front of my kids and my mother.

What about Billy Connelly the Scott...ever heard him say the word "fook"...how funny is that.
I have recently adopted jeeezuz, only because I can now. My DF brother was watching the football while our JW mother was visiting him...and he yells out 'JEEEEEEEZUZ'...next thing he gets a slap from our mum. So under his breath he goes 'F***ken Jeezuz then' LOL...saying it out loud made him feel better...but saying it under his breath saved his ass
