Terrible Anxiety Attack Last Night....

    Hi Dia,

Well at the shooting at the Sunoco Station in Manassas, the police found a Tarot card with a message. It wasn't supposed to be made public, but it got out. It said something like "Mr. Policeman, I am god". Now they say that other clues have appeared, but the police are keeping it under wraps, which is a good thing. Thank you for your prayers.

    Trucker: That honey works wonders!

I'm doing alright. Still uptight if I have to go out, but am trying to be alert and use prudence as I move around at the gas station or grocery stores. My heart aches for the families of all of these innocents. And, the last killing, ...how horrible for the husband to see his wife die that way!

I just hope they can catch them and put a stop to this insanity!

    Hi, Karen ---

I haven't posted on the board very often and I've never really introduced myself here, but I've been reading the board off and on for about a year. and your messages about the sniper have really touched me. As I said in the email I sent you, I live just around the corner from the middle school where the little boy was shot. I was thinking about you last night when the news came on about the woman shot outside the Home Depot.

Some people seem to react more with anger towards the sniper, but my own reaction has been deep sorrow for the victims' families. My brother is a teacher and he had the little boy who is in critical condition in his class for both 4th and 5th grade. A really nice little boy ...he is very serious about his faith (I don't know what church he attends) but apparently he used to go to a neighbor's house for prayer every morning. The paper quoted a neighbor who said how much the boy loves the Lord. Besides the terrible assault to his body (there was a lot of damage to major organs), it saddens me to think of the emotional and spiritual assault on this child. Now he is going to have to grapple with the age-old theological problem of suffering. Will this young teenager (he is 13) feel abandoned by God? Or will he feel that God protected him from death? Will he wonder why he lived and others died? I know that agnostics take horrors such as this as proof that if there IS a God, he is either not loving and good or else he is powerless to prevent evil from happening.

I understand how they can feel that way, but, nevertheless, I pray that this little boy will continue to believe that God loves him and cares for him, and that he will see God's love reflected in the faces of those around him.

Nice to hear from you. For what it's worth, some people are staying away from "Michael's" stores as, I think two of the incidents had some kind of connection to them. Hard to know what to make of that. Just thought I'd share it with you.

I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

    Hi, Dia --

Actually I think there are now 4 shootings involving a Michaels. In addition to the two shootings that directly involved a Michaels, there is a Michaels down the road from the middle school in Bowie, and there is a Michaels close to the Home Depot shooting from last night. But is that just a coincidence? No telling.

'Michael's' is a craft store, right? Silk flowers, needlepoint, painting projects, picture frames, baskets, embroidery and such, right?

Just checking. How are you guys enjoying the new level of protection and look-out? Hope it's bringing a little peace of mind.
