Well.. since I am being quoted here... this is what I said... on "the other board"

I call on all to stop the fighting and join together, regardless of who does what or how any do it, and do for the victims, not for yourselves.
    Quote:
That, my dear, will never happen. And perhaps that is what is truly wrong with the world, and yet it is our differences that make life so interesting. We will never get others to see eye to eye with us. So, at times such as that, it seems the best method at the time is to argue. Why?

My life is far to short to sqabble. I jsut don't have time for it. I am 25, will never be 25 again. I don't want to look back when I am 52 and realize what foolish mistake it was to become bitter, to resent and bear a grudges. I just view things far too precious for that. Why not view the world through the eyes of a child. Always aware, always open, and always learning. Live and let live. Yada yada yada...

Thing is, thus far, I have no regrets. I love life, and this includes the good with the bad. None of us would be who we are today without our past, regardless if many things are positive or negative.

I think, later on down the road, as I reach my supposed "Golden Years" the only thing I would regret is not living life to it's fullest, to become bitter and unaware of Life itself. So I choose to look at things from the eyes of a child. To live each day as if it is the last day of my life. No looking back with longing, only looking back with fond memories or lessons learned. But, more importantly, looking ahead.

I have no idea what I will run across tomorrow. None of us do. But know that no matter what life throws at our feet, embrace the bitter with the sweet. Live your life, and enjoy every single moment of it.

I have always like the band Third Eye Blind song I want You...and this thread reminded me of it..especially the highlited lines.. "I Want You" I've seen suckers loose themselves in the games they learn to play,
Children love to sing but then their voices slowly fade away.
People always take a step away from what is true,
That's why I like you around,
    I want you.
Yeah you do... you make me want you.
An open invitation to the dance,
Happenstance set the vibe that we are in,
No apology because my urge is genuine
    ,
And the mystery of your rhythm is so feminine.
Here I am and I want to take a hit,
Of your scent and it bit,
    So deep into my soul,
    I want you.
You do you do, you make me want you.
    Send me all your vampires,
    And I can't get enough,
    And I can't get enough,
The village church yard is filled with bones weeping in the grave,
The silver lining of clouds shines on people Jesus couldn't save,

You want to know how deeply my soul goes, Deeper than bones,
    I want you,
    And I can't get enough.
After we did it by the window sill,
Smoke rings drift into the midnight sky,
presently in the quilt that your mother made,
And a candle burns to fight off the gloom,
I said to live in this way is not for the meek,
but you talk real soft and kiss me on the cheek.
And like a jazz DJ you talk me into sleep,
There will be no regrets when the worms come,
    And they will surely come.
You do you do, I want you,
    Send me all your vampires,
I want you Sincerely, District Overbeer of the "Worm Appetizer" class

    Dutchie,

You like Edith, too? Now I shall have to go dig out my Piaf CD!

    E-man,

I think everything: sorrow, joy, despair, mistakes, lies, "Truth", truth, losses, successes, etc. have happened so that I could be here, as I am, at this moment. I guess I have always been a believer in "useful remorse," which I never named, but which I pretty much practice, I think.

Some people say that if you have a long memory about wrongs done (or wrongs committed) you haven't truly learned to forgive. I think I can remember both, but not bear a grudge against the wrongdoer -- whether it was me or someone else -- and consequently learn life's lessons. (Caveat: I have never been abused. Don't know how I'd react to that.)

We are the sum total of the glorious victories and the glorious defeats in our life. The pain we carry inside each of us is part of what makes us who we are. It's one thing to recognize and learn from mistakes made, but to look back on our lives in regret is a waste.

This life is all we have. What happens after this life, who can say? Instead of looking back with regret, look ahead to build a better life.

I think we should rejoice in the memory of those times and events.

We are what we are today because of each and every one of them.

    Thanks for this thread!

I am who I am today because of many choices and decisions made along the way.

I don't regret that I've participated in this board, where I have found many wonderful people and now many friends to be happy with.

    Hugs,
