Elder's School Review This Weekend

I'm glad I got to go to one of these secret meetings (for MS, not E), just for the experience. It was at the Assembly Hall, but it just seemed different to an Assembly. The audience was SILENT (eerrie), it smelt differerent, and the drone and themes were like an assembly but the way things were phrased was different - no need to be so 'kind', or 'mindful of the weaker ones and the public'.

It was bloody awful. I hated it. I just wanted to go home to the wife and dog. Thank God it only lasted a day (well..maybe He had a hand in it afterall)!

    Thanks for the inside info.

Elder's school was the worst. At least at meetings and the assemblies I could get up and bring my kids to the washroom or work in some department and not be bored to death listening to another crappy talk. Makes me yawn just thinking about it.

    Yaaaawn......zzzzz

Minimus, I hope your friend, and then you, will provide another "full report," as Jim Dee left us hanging with these words:

There is also another section that is closely guarded

Also, are the ones who strip-search the others really in jockey-shorts?

And why are the elders sitting on the lobby floors? Aren't there chairs somewhere? Why doesn't eveyone leave and go have a nice lunch somewhere nearby? (I guess that is "not allowed," eh?)

    GRITS

Some of these other comments about jockeys and floor sitting, I don't know anything about. But I will try to get more info from my friend....(I won't be seeing him tonight, though.)

I had to sit on the damn floor to eat lunch or else bang into two other guys elbows. It sucked

Dis, did you wear that hat while you were sitting on the floor?

    Yes it was essential

But Dis, wasn't it such a "privilege" to be there? The sisters never get such a "privilege." Maybe that is because we can't sit on the floor with a dress on.

Last time it was the last two QFRs on blood in 2000 and the New TMS School, and the role of the Congregation Book Study OVERSEER (not conductor any more).

I would hope that the WTS gives the elders at least a cursory overview of the child abuse issue so that the WTS can hang the elders out to dry no matter what. If the elders do exactly what the WTS says, the WTS will deny, deny, deny telling them anything.

And if the elders act independently, the WTS will still be able to deny, deny, deny and hang the elders out to dry.

I wonder if even more elders will ask to "step aside" after this seeing the proverbial handwriting on the wall?

Dear Blondie I sure hope so really I do!

Blondie, I was at the last elder's school. Shortly thereafter, I resigned. The school really got to me. Especially bothersome, was the guilt they tried to put on elders for not doing EVERYTHING they were supposed to do.
