An adult who joins chooses to submit himself to the system I guess. I never forget, my old man, who was slick at converting perople to the dub belief system,was studying with some relatives at one stage, and the book study in their home was going fine. Until they went to their first meeting. A puiblic talk and WT study. After it was over, the brother in law declared the Witnesses a cult, and the Watchtower Study a "brainwashing session" . And that was that. Some people obviously need the belief more than others do.
