A Storm is a Brewin'

I found this little gem from the January 2002 KM thanks to Stephanus:

January 2000 Kingdom Ministry Now Up

I present it in all its deception (together with my ever-so-humble observations) for your reading enjoyment:

    "Relocation

"You may recall that during the concluding talk at the 2001 "Teachers of God's Word" District Conventions the speaker mentioned the possibility of the Britain branch relocating in order to care for our expanding requirements. He indicated that further informatation would be conveyed to the brothers a s soon as this was available.

(Ok. In the summer of 2001, the society had "expanding requirements" in Great Britain. Fine and dandy.)

" Of course, as you will appreciate, the 'scene of the world' has changed dramatically since then (1 Cor. 7:31)

(Yeah, I could 'appreciate' it if you would in explain what-in-the-hell you are talking about. Paul said the 'scene of the world was changing' 2000 years ago. The 'scene of the world' was 'changing' for the five thousand years before that and in the 2,000 years since then. The 'scene of the world' is ALWAYS changing you morons! So what's the point? The point is the WTS leaders leave it up to little dubbies to rationalize an answer, and believe me, they will. Did the bombing of the World Trade Center a continent away cause the WTS to abandon their plans? Threats of terrorism? Hardly. If terrorists are going to terrorize WTS buildings, they can just as easily terrorize older buildings as new ones. Why won't the WTS come out and give the REAL reason? I'd bet a cup of coffee they won't do that because it will make them look bad. Or worse, stupid.)

"The Governing Body has thoroughly considered the matter and weighed various vactors that would have a bearing on their decision.

(Between drools, naps and diaper changes, the Governing Body looked at the bottom line and the bottom line wasn't there. One cannot help but wonder what happened in the very few months between the announcement of a new facility and the very quick abandonment of that facility. The Watchtower Corporation just doesn't work like that. Unless something is VERY wrong.)

"They say, "while we can appreciate that much work has gone into the plans for a possible new complex to meet the needs of the work, the Governing Body has determined that with the current changing world situation it would be best not to go ahead with building plans for Britain at this time."

(What's this 'current changing world situation' that would cause such a turn-about? The Watchtower (as usual) won't say. It's just a smoke screen and LIE to cover up the real reason. Follow the money. That's behind EVERYTHING they do and has been that way since Chuck Russell started this whole scam religion. By the way, the Governing Body doesn't give a SHIT about those who volunteered all their time and talent towards procuring a new site. The only thing in the Universe that they 'appreciate' is themselves. They pay lip service to appreciation. If you want to really see how much they 'appreciate' you, look them straight in the eye and tell them they are full of shit. Only then will their real agenda manifest itself.)

"May we take this occasion to express our sincere appreciation to all those who have volunteered their time and skills to aid us in the initial work of searching for suitable sites, drawing up outline plans, and presenting these to various officials.

(Yeah, you COULD take that time if you really did appreciate it, but you don't and we know it. Fact is, those people who gave so much in that effort are just bodies that you can cast off at your whim.)

"It has been a wonderful experience in pooling such a fine array of talented brothers and sisters and the lessons learned will prove invaluable for the future.

(What 'lesson' did you learn Watchtower? Please tell us. We are eager to know that you actually learned a 'lesson' for once.)

"We now leave the matter in the hands of the Almighty and his reigning king, Christ Jesus,

(One has to wonder why you didn't do that in the first place. If you had, you wouldn't look like fools you are for making a grandiose announcement and then be forced to retract it a few months later.)

"... and we arel sure you will do the same.

    (Or else.)

    A storm-is-a brewin', folks. A storm is-a brewin'.

Watchtower is hurting - In the wallet, because that's the only place they are capable of feeling any hurt. Everywhere else they are as numb as the brains of their followers.

    Farkel,

One wonders whether these ``Champions of Truth'' could ever pass a polygraph test.... They're as adept at misinforming their guillible drones as they are the armageddon-fodder worldlings!

    What a complete shlockfest!

Somebody hand me a barf bag!!!!!!!

I'd be pretty pissed if I'd spent so much time planning their new building for them and so forth, only to have my work thrown back in my face with "we really appreciate it, but you know, we don't think we want to do it anymore!"!

I would love to be able to do this:

look them straight in the eye and tell them they are full of shit.

Odd too, that they didn't expand the Branch if it has taken over the French branch
    functions.

Little by little, according to this logic, Jehovah is shutting them down.

    Thanks again Farkel

Great points made. I hope the lack of funds continue, as money is what makes the world go 'round. Not "relyin' on Jehovah."

I know of two building projects in Canada which were planned and started and then put off, one for temporary lack of funding for a large assembly hall in British Columbia and the other an addition to the Canadian Bethel comlex, stalled over issues with water use with the local town council.

    Both projects were eventually built.

Could be storm a brewin' , could be duckin' in outta the rain for a bit. Like before.
