Hi Farkel,
Good thread.
Poor things had to pay that heavy $30,000. fine.
Just wait until they have to fork over taxes.
We'll see how different they are from other religions when that happens.

Excuse me, but I did post this note in late 2001:-
The move to central UK (either Milton Keynes or Derby) has been scrapped - it has not yet been formally announced but is common knowledge in Bethel
However, the society has seen the price of its land in Bethel move up DRAMATICALLY since they posponed the idea of a move. The interesting thing is that the sites at MK (next to Furzton) and Derby (by the Toyota Factory) are still free - and the temptation grants are still in place
May not be a storm brewing, but a windfall

And if that happens, it will be the hand of Jehovah.
The WTS originally wanted to buy the land the Squibb building was on (25 Columbia Hts) during Rutherford's time but it fell through. Squibb bought the land and found that sand not the granite they expected under the surface and they had to spend much money to build a secure foundation. Then Squibb when out of business in the 70's (?) and the WTS bought a building (super clean because it was used for manufacturing legal drugs) at a fraction of what it would have cost to build it, and all due to the manuevering of Jehovah's hand, well, at least according to the Bethel tour guide.

This just reminds me of ............ummmmmmmm say "money changers" in God's temple. How did they fair? They pissed Jesus off more or less. Boy was he angry with them! The perfect man Jesus lost his temper and probably came real close to kicking some ass right there.
The WT is nothing less than "money changers", that is all they care about. Getting a dime here and there, millions here and there. Constantly reminding you to fork over more , as the widow did. Even giving directions in every single last copy of the WT magazine of the year on how to leave the WT your worldly possessions.
No wonder Jesus' flock are in such sad shape. Those letters they send are nothing but another beg job for money, with a thin veil of some brotherly love thrown in , for the brainwashing effect.
Offsprings of vipers , the WT are. They truly make me sick , when I know they sit in their fine accomadations while , some brothers and sisters are sitting on the ground in a straw hut. Others are giving their montly dues to "God's work", even doing without food , or worring if they will make it home because they used up all of their gas in field service.
Until I came to this site, I had no idea the money the WT had. It floored me. They are always poor mouthing, begging for money , for the world wide work. What work? Nothing more than their cushy little beds is what that money is for. God , I got mad at myself for ever given them a dime.

Didn't someone once saying something if the Maker of all the gold and all the silver didn't provide that would be a sign to cease publication?

When the WT wanted to buy the Squibb building they came, hat in hand, and asked for money. Even though their letter asked for loans it was asking for money none the less. I should have known they were just another business back then.

Ok I admit it I'm dumber than a post here but where does all this so-called money the WTS gets from it's members go? Do the GB have it, I mean it's not like any of those old cauggers in Bethel are driving expensive cars, wearing expensive clothes, jewlery. You know doing the Jimmy Swagart thing and living secretly in palaces. So where does it go, who is gunna get it, who bennifits from it?
bc inquiring minds want to know
