    Today Ozzie's Weekend Poll returns after a short break. We promised that it would come back brighter than ever, so here it is! Well, it's a start, isn't it?

    This weekend's topic is:

    What makes a dub happy?

    1. They're not!
    2. The borg told them they are, so they must be.
    3. Good friends
    4. Loyal friends
    5. What's happiness?
    6. Five meetings a week.
    7. Being with others in group witnessing.
    8. The meetings are such fun!
    9. You get to have "privileges".
    10. The student talks they get to give.
    11. What, me worry?

    What made me happy as a JW, although I would not admit it at the time was:

    1. The Public Speaker did not show up for the talk! (That later changed as the Chairman was then required to give the talk.)

    2. A blinding 'snow storm' or raining so hard you could not meet for service. (still screwed up because of that as I still like bad weather.)

    3. Long coffee breaks out in service. (plus eggs, bacon, and toast, and then to a few car lots to look things over before punching out the time clock at the Hall.)

    4. And the happiest of all, getting out of the organization and actually being able to sleep in on Saturday and Sunday mornings if I wanted to. ( I used to like Monday mornings and back to work most.)

    This is the same with love. The "love" each other because the Watchtower says so.
    JW's learn to have "emotionless" emotions; I think that's the reason many do have emotional problems because they can't express them on a natural way.

    Singing dirge-like Kingdom Melodies with uncertain melody or Christendom rip-offs.

    What always made me happy was leaving in the middle of the public talk. Freaked the speaker out.

    Hmmmm, what makes them happy.....think it's that annoying habit of theirs (WBTS inspired of course) that they think they are right on every god dam opinion/belief/doctrine/issue etc

    I vote #2, "the borg told them they are, so they must be". The borg tells them they're the happiest people on earth, serving the "happy" God Jehovah (which is a clever ruse because to a dub, Jehovah = the organization).

    The borg tells them they're special, they're "holy", i.e., set aside by God for his service. And the borg tells them that they alone will survive Armageddon into God's new world!

    So if you're NOT happy, something is definitely wrong with you, and so you must not be a "real" Witness.

    The borg tells them they are "the happiest people on earth", so if they are miserable being JWs they have to find something else to attribute their misery to. The GB wouldn't LIE to them, now would they??

    I think that most times a person can put on the show for only so long before the stress that they are putting on their bodies and minds causes them to display physical/psychological symptoms of the real misery they feel.

    Then again, there's a certain satisfaction in believing that you have practically ALL of the answers to life's questions/problems figured out. However, finding out that it ain't necessarily so can be devastating.

    Delete an Elder/MS/Pioneer/Un-baptised Pub (or DF anyone) one month, give a non-1900 porno phone service Special Needs talk the next...
