How screwed are you...? Only as screwed as you want to be. She sounds like a bit of a train wreck. A mooch living off of you and giving nothing in return. Been there done that. It will NEVER change. Leave while you can. If you are child free then dear god run now. It wont be long before she gets pregnant. -

Welcome JudasM. Why are JWs fooled into thinking the WTS cares? For many of them they grew up in it as you and I did so they know nothing else. They think it is normal to treat people badly and get away with it. This is not normal. In normal society there are checks and balances to prevent managers at work or leaders of organizations from treating people like dirt.
It's just that in the JWs these checks and balances have been removed by saying that elders and the GB are appointed by God. When this happened in Europe and the monarch ruled by divine right hundreds of years ago terrible atrocities happened. If you don't want to stay in a medieval religion then leave as soon as you can. Glad to have you here.

Your life your marriage is identical to my own I am fading wife is full time pioneer she micro manages my life and I lead a double life on sites like this... for years I was told by the elders that the problem was mine, not enough service, prayer sacrifice blah blah, so fade quietly and when the time is right disappear, if only I had known years ago so many of us have serious doubts about the ORG!!! -

Welcome Judas Maccabee!!!!
From what you write, it actually sounds that you have a number of positives on your side. You don't have children and your family is behind you. This is huge. In the event that you decide to completely cut off ties, you already have a support system in place and sounds like you are talented and have many skills.
Having said this, if you feel your marriage is worth saving, then I would encourage you to be a little patient...who knows she may come around. I know I did! Hubby figured things out long before I did and kept these to himself for a number of years. Now we are both on the same path.
Please continue to post and share your experiences with us.

Hi, Judas. Welcome! Sorry to hear that your marriage isn't what you hoped for. Lots of Witness girls are gold-diggers, or at least they become princesses after they get married.
I keep falling back on my personal vow "for better or for worse." My wife does not behave like a GoodLittle Witness girl when it comes to me. But that is HER sickness, not mine. True, it's a thorn in my side, a pain in my ass, but I am keeping my promise.
You are well within your rights to control the family money.
Try to be kind, too.
my best to you,
Stillin

I say RUN. Run as fast as you can the hell out of there before she gets pregnant.
If you want to work it out, I think you should do marriage counseling while separated and not move back in with each other until changes have been made. Just my opinion...

Personality conflicts are common among all people, all religions, all atheists, all races, all countryman, all anything
its human nature
If your condemning JWs for beliefs that's one thing, if your condemning them because of an elder you don't like then you need to get some thicker skin, grow up and quit being such a baby
I'll bet your boss "picks on you" and your co-workers are "jerks" and your family "hates you" too
there are lots of cry babies out there
man up, nobody cares
