It makes you wonder, doesn't it Mary?

I also wonder if she really did "know" about it as she is reported to have said. Couldn't it just be another political ploy concocted by the palace advisers? Damaging information could have ben coming in the court and they felt it best to "pull the pin" on it to avoid the revelations?????

    Cheers, Ozzie

Exactly ... I think there is a reason he never mentioned it - he never said it ! Does anyone really spend 2 years in court and face a prison term because they don't want to utter the words "I told the Queen"? Rediculous ...

This was obviously a last hour way of preventing him being questioned under oath about some very embarrassing stuff.

I think they lot of them should be given the bill for the costs and charges with wasting police crime.

LOL.... I wouldn't have blamed Diana in the least if she had!!

I suspect that Diana's butler had some interesting bits of information that he threatened to leak if they persued with the prosecution. I have tended to believe him when he said Diana had entrusted him with her possessions. And with the publicity this court case has brought him, I doubt he would be game to try to sell anything anyway!!

Ozzie's puzzled....well, that's not hard, some say!!....why'd he WANT to keep Di's things?

Maybe it's the shiraz that's befuddled your brain, Ozzie?

My guess is that he wanted to keep the things until Will and Harry were old enough to be legal owners of her stuff. Maybe he understood the royal family and the way they worked to know that Diana's things weren't being properly protected. Maybe they had always been under his care, and he assumed that he knew what was for the best for her belongings??

It could be, Pris. We had a TERRIBLE shiraz with a meal at the Apostates Restaurant on Friday. Boy, it really was so terrible. It was a 2001 vintage yet came out with bubbles!! Sometimes that can happen with a new wine, but a 2001???? There was a grease slick on the surface in the glass, and the taste!!!!!!!

    Guess what it was?

    I bet Jemimah wouldn't believe it.....it was........a.................
