They already responded in advance to this.

    From the July Broadcast:

While we cannot control everything that an individual might say, it is clear that over the decades protecting children from abuse is a top priority for this organization. We are proud of our reputation in this regard and we look forward to the time in God's new world when no one, young or old, will ever again be a victim of abuse.

That will be their spin. That this didn't occur because of organizational policies...it was individuals not following direction.

Even though we know that to be false, that's how they will spin it.

Good thread. I think the GB is too arrogant to EVER apologize for anything they allow- criminal or not. This attitude permeates down into C.O.'s, elders, virtually every male JW in the organization- especially in regards to how women and children are treated . I have my own 89 year old elder dad as an example- the man has never admitted to ANY fault or mistakes in his life- ever. He has had over 64 years of indoctrination from the WT Society to " perfect " the art of compartmentalization and denial of responsibility. These guys learn this trait from the top WT dogs downward.

That being said I believe what needs to happen now is for any courts in Australia and worldwide and worldwide media anywhere to keep putting the pressure on the WT Society by constant media attention and exposing of the child abuse crimes occurring within the JW organization. This needs to be kept in the forefront and if many ex-JW's spread the word as well to ANYBODY we come across word eventually gets out.

So I think THAT is what happens now. Keep the pedal to the metal as the expression goes and remain proactive in exposing WT child abuse. Eventually it may crack and expose even more higher ups in WT land and hasten the exit of fence sitting JW's. My 2 cents

I'm still in, and if any one breaths at word of this to me, i will full on tell them all the details.

There is going to be some very upset JWs in the next few weeks.

Are we going to see a decline in JWism in Australia because of this? I hope so.

It would be great if the Royal Commission could require the GB to appear before them. Maybe if the local branch representatives say that they call Headquarters (GB) for direction then the Royal Commission will continue to climb up the chain of command.

    A) They are not going to apologize

(They are Christs brothers, why should they?)

    B) They are very busy doing the "Lords" work

(Such as demanding a retraction from the newspaper in Ghana that printed a woman died from no blood policy)

I think its a bombshell. There is going to be immediate carnage in terms of people leaving, withdrawing financial support and possibly criminal charges for destroying evidence related to a felony - possibly multiple counts. There is also going to be fallout - making it more difficult to recruit new members. The organization has had years of brain drain and reminds me of a old boxer who has taken too many punches.

I see two things happening soon. I suspect (or hope) that this will start the second level of Watchtower personal thinking hard about the current worth and value of the present GB. Loyalty only goes so far, I think certain members of the GB will be thrown under the bus by being forced to 'retire' and/or the GB will add younger, better educated and smarter people to work from within and begin cleaning up a number of issues.

They can start with this pedophile issue by revealing new truth that Jesus never meant applying the two witness rule to molested children! Hell even I can find the proper scripture and I haven't owned a bible in 48 years. Matthew 19:14

    New American Standard Bible

But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

    If pedophiles aren't a hindrance..........???

Repenting to avoid being DF is another problem. Is there any real repentance if one does not receive punishment?

They will certainly try to spin it the way cappytan quotes them as remarking on previously. That said, the bigger problem is not going away. If it is not Candice Conti, or the Royal Commission, it will be something else. These cases are now beginning to hit the organization fast and furiously, and the GB know it. AMIII would not have mentioned the above quoted in a broadcast a few months back, were that not the case.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, folks.

I hope Lee Elder is right. He is a pioneer in the work to expose the Dark Lords' hurtful teachings and practices. When Lee talks, we should listen.

We don't know how many truly sentient people are left in the Dark Tower; many of them have already escaped. The brain dead, programmed, zombies may be all that are remaining. Let's hope that there are active brain cells in those who aren't zombies.

Combined with the post-2014 fall-out we should expect, this may result in myriads upon myriads (sorry, couldn't resist) finally opening their eyes to the Dark Lords and the Dark Tower. And that would be most excellent.

    This is an interesting point.

One of the enduring mysteries that is hashed & re-hashed on this site is"Are the GB really in charge, or are they merely an illusion, puppets who are fronting for some other guys 'really' in charge?"

If the results of this commission are large fines and/or criminal proceedings and/or a huge hit in membership / contributions, let's see what happens to the GB.

If they are really the ones in charge, they will circle the wagons and become even more insular.

If they are puppets, I would expect one or several to be hung out as the scapegoat, and more competent-looking figureheads to be hired in their places.
