    Dakota Red:

You sound like the Watchtower and you are just as arrogant. Anyone who doesn't agree with you is "a loser". The following are Bush's reasons for attacking Iraq.

    1. Weapons of mass destruction.

    2. Sadaam is cruel and ruthless

    3. Sadaam is affiliated with Bin Laden

Try and defend these ideas. I'll obliterate everyone of your arguments.

The six million members of the Watchtower think the Watchtower is God's personal spokesman. Rather than deal with the facts or the issues they label dissenters as apostates. You are just as bad. Pot calling the kettle black.

    Hi Proplog2:

It is clear that Dakota Red, Amazing and others in this forum have been duped by the propaganda machine into thinking the US is the noblest nation to have ever occupied a place on this earth.

Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back now. No one ever said that the USA is the noblest nation on earth ... this is either wild speculation designed to mislead the readers of your post, or you are living in some parallel universe of your own making.

Lucy complained about the American dream being a figment of our collective imaginations. We are all living the American dream ... it is evident that she and others have not traveled much or they would see how lucky we have it. America is not the only nation that is doing very well. We are not the only nation with a powerful military ... we are not the only nation trying to do good. We are, however, a nation that wants to function and survive as a collective entity ... and this means that at times we have to get our hands dirty. Propaganda ... yes, I suppose watching the World Trade Center go down with thousands of innocent victims is just more conspiracy theorists idea of radical right winged propaganda ... nevertheless, the event is real. The people responsible seek our destruction. And given the choice of trusting some radical Islamic towel-head or the President of the USA ... I will take my chances with George Bush.

Could he end up being proven to lie to us? Sure. The Pope could end up being a child molester. Yea, so what ... we will deal with that should it come to light. As things stand, I have no use for the radical towel-heads whose only thought is to kill me and my children simply because they have a religious hair up their nose. Screw them. Screw them all the way to hell.

I believe in fair debate, in good challenges and questions. But I truly believe that some simply look to be critical just for the sake of finding something to bitch about. Their criticism becomes hallow, empty, and pointless. All this crapola about how eeeevil the USA is, is little more than radical Islamic propaganda to undermine America and the western nations ... it is so much hot air, bad gas, unproven allegations by people jealous of success, because their religion will not let them succeed, their little Allah is a whimp who enslaves them in ancient religious superstition ... a tribal superstition that leads them to live like lackey slave dogs. And they are mislead by spoiled rich Saudi Arabian people like Osama bin Laden who want to be worshipped by ignorant cult followers ... if Osama or Saddam really cared about anything, they wold take their many multi-millions and feed people, and provide education, clothing, etc. No, they buy guns and kill ... and duped little whinny American idiots lap up their propaganda vomit and think that somehow America and western Europe are evil ... There ... had my Sunday afternoon say ... feels much better.

I think people need to differentiate between the american govt and the american people. While the founding fathers were amazingly understanding of what was required to preserve freedom, corruption has been growing within the govt ever since then. Now, abuse of power within the american govt has grown to unbelievable proportions. Thank god there are still many good men inside govt. Thank god that in the hearts of the american people, the flame of freedom still burns! May it continue to live, and outlive the corruption in higher places.

Propolog, I said it already, your useless drivel isn't worthy of my time. You want to say I am like the Watchtower? Is that your second grade nanny nanny boo boo at me? For all the intelligence you try to show, you missed the boat here, buddy.

Whine, cry and spew any bovine scatology you wish. You maintain that right to do so due to the efforts of warmongering, nationalistic flag wavers like me. If you don't believe so, I invite you to move to Baghdad and openly condemn Saddam Hussein as you do George Bush and the US. See if your Jehovah and documents from the founding fathers protect you there.

    In the interim, I invite you to review the following commentary broadcast back in 1973;

On June 5 1973, Canadian radio commentator Gordon Sinclair decided he'd had enough of the stream of criticism and negative press recently directed at the United States of America by foreign journalists (primarily over America's long military involvement in Vietnam, which had ended with the signing of the Paris Peace Accords six months earlier). When he arrived at radio station CFRB in Toronto that morning, he spent twenty minutes dashing off a two-page editorial defending the USA against its carping critics which he then delivered in a defiant, indignant tone during his "Let's Be Personal" spot at 11:45 AM that day.

Sinclair passed away in 1984, but he will long be remembered on both sides of the U.S.-Canadian border -- both for his contributions to journalism, and for his loudly proclaiming a friendship that few at the time were willing to embrace.

LET'S BE PERSONAL" Broadcast June 5, 1973 CFRB, Toronto, Ontario

    Topic: "The Americans"

The United States dollar took another pounding on German, French and British exchanges this morning, hitting the lowest point ever known in West Germany. It has declined there by 41% since 1971 and this Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least-appreciated people in all the world.

As long as sixty years ago, when I first started to read newspapers, I read of floods on the Yellow River and the Yangtse. Well, Who rushed in with men and money to help? The Americans did, that's who.

They have helped control floods on the Nile, the Amazon, the Ganges and the Niger. Today, the rich bottom land of the Mississippi is under water and no foreign land has sent a dollar to help. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy, were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of those countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.

When the franc was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. And I was there. I saw that.

When distant cities are hit by earthquakes, it is the United States that hurries into help... Managua Nicaragua is one of the most recent examples. So far this spring, 59 American communities have been flattened by tornadoes. Nobody has helped.

The Marshall Plan... the Truman Policy... all pumped billions upon billions of dollars into discouraged countries. And now, newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent war-mongering Americans.

I'd like to see one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplanes.

Come on... let's hear it! Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tristar or the Douglas 10? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all international lines except Russia fly American planes? Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or a women on the moon?

You talk about Japanese technocracy and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy and you find men on the moon, not once, but several times ... and safely home again. You talk about scandals and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. Even the draft dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are right here on our streets in Toronto, most of them... unless they are breaking Canadian laws... are getting American dollars from Ma and Pa at home to spend here.

When the Americans get out of this bind... as they will... who could blame them if they said 'the hell with the rest of the world'. Let someone else buy the bonds, let someone else build or repair foreign dams or design foreign buildings that won't shake apart in earthquakes.

When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both of them are still broke. I can name to you 5,000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble.

Can you name to me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.

Our neighbours have faced it alone and I am one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their noses at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles.

I hope Canada is not one of these. But there are many smug, self-righteous Canadians. And finally, the American Red Cross was told at its 48th Annual meeting in New Orleans this morning that it was broke.

This year's disasters... with the year less than half-over... has taken it all and nobody... but nobody... has helped.

The Web has freed a few from the Watchtower Propaganda. But the

Web needs to clear the US press propaganda out of your heads. Some

Somebody PLEASE explain to me the reasoning behind the statement "GOD BLESS AMERICA."

Especially coming from an ex-Witness....I just don't understand why or how anyone with common sense could post that after reading those quotes.

Yes, this country HAS done positive things for a lot of people, and those are not overlooked in the least bit. Hell yeah I enjoy the freedoms I have in this country, but does that justify all the WRONG things they've done and continue to do? Recognize the good for the good and the bad for the bad, and don't try to lump them all together to make one good.

If a serial killer donated 2,000K to an adoption center, does that excuse the fact that he cut 15 virgins up into pieces and stuffed them into barrels in his back yard?

"Oh, he was a great man though....he did good things for the community too you know..."

I HAVE travelled to other countries, and I've seen how they live. There are several countries I could live in and feel just as secure and happy with the people and the established form of government. But I'll never see a reason to devote my "worship" to ANY particular country, saying they are better than any other, because when it comes down to it, ALL POLITICS are dirty and unethical - someone ALWAYS gets stiffed. So I'm content with simply paying taxes and doing what the Law requires of me - beyond that, how can I possibly give allegiance to any country knowing what really goes on behind the scenes?

Unfortunately war is necessary at times, and unfortunately innocent civilians are killed as a result. But the needless manslaughter of women and children, comparable to recreational hunting, just on humans....that is inexcusable, and anyone who can read those quotes and only think of the words "GOD BLESS AMERICA" deserves....I'll leave that blank for you to fill in. You diss Sadaam for turning on his own people with chemical agents and support America for raping and then killing little girls and women in other countries in the same breath.

Hypocrites. Where are your ethics? Morals? ????

I just lost a lot of respect for a lot of people on this board I previously had respect for. I think it better for me to stick to the religious topics, for they are far more enlightening than this bullshit.

Hi Dakota, you'll have to excuse the cynicism of my comment re your alluding to Gordon Sinclair. For many of us here in Canada, especially Western Canada, Sinclair was just another lapdog to the morons who run this country. He just parroted the official stand taken by the federal government in Ottawa, which is not surprising as he was born and raised in Ontario, specifically Toronto. You have to understand Canadian politics to appreciate why a bootlicking journalist like Sinclair holds no credibility among a good number of Western Canadians whose goal it is to separate from the stranglehold of our federalist system.

"I would like to talk on behalf of all those veterans and say that several months ago in Detroit we had an investigation at which over 150 honorably discharged, and many very highly decorated, veterans testified to war crimes committed in Southeast Asia. These were not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command. ... "They told stories that at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam, in addition to the normal ravage of war and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country."
    _ John Kerry
Navy lieutenant, leader of Vietnam Veterans Against the War in testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee April 23, 1971

The same John Kerry who admitted that his Special Forces unit got involved in a night firefight that resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians because some South Vietnamese idiot told him a certain village was infested with VC? And he considered running for President? If so, you sure know how to pick your heroes.

"The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them."

_ George Orwell author of 1984

One could say the same thing about communists and socialists.

Alfie, although I can appreciate your sentiments, I am thankful that the Canadians I know do not share them.

Back, I do appreciate the term God Bless America. I also apprecate God Save the Queen and any others. There is no perfect country, but we Americans seem to air our dirty laundry in public and deal with it. We have had scoundrels in government, but we have a system to deal with them and hold them in check. We can also oust them ourselves, if need be, without an armed insurrection.

I too have traveled the world and seen and enjoyed other cultures. I don't believe you will ever see me bashing another country as America receives here. I feel all should be proud of their culture and heritage and the country they live in. If they can't be then they need to do something to make it something to be proud of. The very ones who openly condemn us and harbor all the ill will against us are also the very same ones who openly accept our aid and assistance and expect us to rescue them if they are invaded by unfriendlies. They are also the same ones who freely flood our markets to sell their wares and support their economies and yet, deny our wares to be sold freely in their streets.

Bear in mind that America, although a soveriegn nation, is a nation comprised of immigrants and descendants of immigrants who fled those very same nations to escape oppression or seek a better life. Even today, thousands stream into the country on a daily basis seeking a better life. Not all are allowed to stay, but many are. For all of our shortcomings and pitfalls, there must be a reason so many are willing to risk death to enter this country. How many others are willing to risk that to reach another country?

Is America better than the rest? No, I won't say better. We just have fought for the freedom to make life as good as we can. Does that excuse past mistakes? No. But, what other country tries to rectify their mistakes as America does?

If America just sealed all it's borders and allowed no one else in and ousted all the foreign nationals, how much outcry would be raised around the world? You can bet plenty.
