Outstanding point Blondie! That's exactly what I told my father in law (anointed 40 years JW). I'm not turning back on God. But I do reject an organization full of asinine rules that protects evil and hurts the innocent. If that makes me weak or apostate, so be it.

Why does this sound like a talk in the Kingdom Hall encouraging all get out more and Pioneer?

To me, the joy and the freedom we found escaping the Watchtower means we no longer need to be classified as weak, strong, apostate or whatever. Just helping each get their life together and start enjoying life away from the overbearing control of the Watchtower.

i always thought that an apostate was someone who went around badgering and saying bad things specifically about the witnesses, but looks like i am wrong. thanks for putting me straight.

just out of curiousity i got the meaning of the word apostate from 2 online dictionaries and this is what they said......

1/ One who has abandoned one's religious faith, a political party, one's principles, or a cause.
2/ renunciation of a religious faith/abandonment of a previous loyalty

When I first left the organization I was very hesitant to say anything critical of the WTBTS. Even though I knew I no longer believed in their teachings, I didnt want to become the kind of person I was always warned about--a dreaded apostate!

I still feel weird calling myself an apostate, but these days I warn people about the WTBTS whenever I get the chance!

According to the "Aid" book, apostate means one who stands apart. Also,I know that rumor in my old cong. is that I am a rabid appostate. This might have something to do w/ the fact that whenever I saw a JW who gave me "the look", you know, that look down your nose look, I took to saying "What the F*%& are you looking at? So, Yep, I guess according to there definition I am one.
