I just read the thread in question. Looks like they deleted Bill from posting.

The thing that hurts me the most, in this whole debacle, is I feel I have lost some good friends. I am for all intents and purposes, being shunned by many of the people who have "taken Bill's side" in this. I am on the side of the victims............and I don't see that it requires me to choose a leader. I did that once, and got out of it, and am shunned for my choice. Same thing happening again. Very sad.

I truly care for Bill and thought he was my friend. I wish my conscience would let me say he was right here, but I just can't say that. Keeping my friendships is very important to me, but I won't go against what I inherently know is right either.

As a wise man once said: "Some people want to be a king, others want a king, and keep looking until they identify one." Maybe we need to determine which kind of person we are. I will never follow a man again...........or a group of men.

Ray Franz DOES go into the UN scandal and even devoted space to pictures of the letters Hawkaw got from the DPI.

Thank you so much - as I find this peculiar also. It's great that Hawkaw's work is being acknowledged in the UN arena. Too bad Hawkaw's work in the arena of defending children wasn't mentioned.

Actually, no court cases or laws have been broken with the UN issue. Actually, the jw's I've talked to about the UN issue were quite unimpressed (didn't say they were smart btw).

The WT has broken laws on child abuse reporting in several countries, and there are (even previous to this year) court cases on file against them. I believe the Bryant case (found on the internet - Jehovah's Witnesses United - for several years now) was interesting, even though the WT won. Neither side argued whether the jw man raped the young jw boy.....just that the elders didn't have a Fiduciary Trust to warn the young boy of his neighbor rapist even though the young boy's stepfather was an elder on the committee of the jw rapist when he had previously molested yet another young boy.

Lol, and here I just defended lawyers on another thread!

I'm not looking for a King - but I do believe that the WT's problem with child molesters should be mentioned.....as it's just as common a problem as all other religions have with molesters according to Dr. Penton & COJ.

Bowen & Franz are both excellent - but not above discussion. Neither are Kings.

What? Does Silentlambs Org. think Dateline will read COC see no mention of the child abuse problem and conclude their whole report was wrong? Hardly!

Why the obsession with Ray Franz? What great damage to Silentlambs Org. has RF done?

Bill Bowen has done more damage to Silentlambs Org. than the Watchtower could ever have hoped for, sadly he prefers to widen the wound rather than heal it.

He has become his own worst enemy.

hmmm.....Ray Franz decides to write a book. He updates the book. He doesn't put in a description of child abuse problems. Now, he's villified. Write your own book and put anything that YOU want to put in. Just because certain people feel that he should believe in the Trinity, or beg forgiveness for his past or take up a worthy cause, it doesn't mean that he has to do it. These attitudes are no different than the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society's.

I also can't see a problem with Ray leaving out a discussion on the WT and child abuse. The subject is a trap door imo and I wouldn't put in my book if I was him either. Perhaps in the future if and when more details come to light, but not yet.

I think the UN issue is a whole different thing, and is a subject Ray can approach with much more certainty. As has been said, it is Ray's book and he can write what he wishes.

And as for the "beating a dead horse" comments, well no one is forcing you to continue opening these threads, so please skip over them. And maybe mention to Bill to stop starting threads on the subject elsewhere if he truly believes the interests of abused persons are of more importance than his pride.

It's you that seem to have this obsession with trying to bring down silentlambs, are you a WTBS plant? Because you act like it.
