BacktodaFront...are you talking about Resident Evil? If so, I totally agree. I was SO disappointed in the movie. It didn't capture the mood or the intrigue of the games at all.

I understand not letting your children play extremly violent games, and hours of any games....but it seems the GB isn't happy until they have total control of every JW'S life. Now I can see most of the JW parents throwing out all their kids video game systems.

Yup, as expected, the
TROLLcertain person has not replied. No surprise really!<RANT>
I'm really mad with the Tower, because that demonic little kid (he definitely had Mexican the night before to get so red in the face) is holding an XBOX controller. They just had to go and put the controller of the greatest game console ever on the cover of their stupid, stupid, STUPID magazine!
</RANT>OK, I'm done ranting now, anyone else wanna have a go?

Syn,
Why didn't they put a Gamecube controller on there? We all know that Mario is really the devil in disquise.

OOOhhhh, this one hits close...first, general comments. How the article would have read...30 years ago!
Playing violent computer and video gamesReading the violent and graphic tales of violence in books (not the bible, though) may encourage aggressive behavior.Electronic gamesReading books can make you more than a spectator of violence; they are designed to make you feel like a participant. For the impressionable, reading books
gamesmay blur the distinction between reality and fantasy.Like an addiction, reading books
game playingcan lead to neglect of important obligations (like, selling magazines!) and relationships.GamesBooks can consume time that should be spent on other important activities, such as studying (our magazines), interacting with others (to sell them magazines, and forget we mentioned that online games have you interacting with others, too), and playing creatively ("I'm the householder, you be the witness and practice your presentation!").Prolonged
staring at the screenreading of books (but not ours!) can cause eyestrain.Lack of exercise, a possible result of reading too many books (but not ours!)
game playing, can lead to obesity.GamesBooks (not not ours!) can rob you of money and time.--------------------------
Bleh, just don't like how generic that piece was.
As soon as I find it difficult to keep my playing at a balanced level, I just push the delete button again
I HATED that cycle. When, as a teen, I would start drifting towards wordliness, I'd have a collection of games and Star Trek books, etc (god forbid!). I'd feel all guilty, and throw it all out. Then, I'd start buying some more, feel guilty again, throw it all out.
I'VE LOST SO MUCH STUFF THAT WAY!!!
Gods, I hate these people. Here they are ENCOURAGING that behavior!!!

Of course, it's much, much better for JW youth to avoid violent video games and concentrate on the WTS literature which shows billions of people being systematically slaughtered, ad infinitum.
Better to avoid games with virtual violence and go out and preach to people about horrible plagues and destruction that they believe are literal, and will happen "any day now" and think of this as "Jehovah's loving provision for mankind".
Kind of reminds me of the response of one of the JWs on a now defunct DB who said with regard to the loss of life on 9/11...."If they think this is bad, just wait until Armageddon REALLY gets going....then they'll see some REAL death and destruction."
Much more wholesome....yeah, right.

This is sad but I cannot force myself to read the copies posted for us. I have grown so accustomed to not reading the Awake since I was 15 or so it makes me sick to try and read it now.
