Tinker, have you ever considered Hypnotherapy? It is easy to learn and you can make some good money. Tracy (Think41Self) is learning it now and is taking her first client this Saturday. E-mail me if you want to learn more about it.

I also get some ragging about not working.

    That is jealousy.

I liked the idea of charity work, or going back to school. There is usually a lot of part time work available this time of year because of the holiday season. Check around, there are places needing temp help thru the season some are willing to pay decently.

I agree with Joy. Don't let the times we live in guilt you into feeling you have to work. I have worked very little, outside my home in the almost 40 years I've been married. I stayed home, happily raising the 4 kids, and only started cleaning houses in 1988, to save money for Princess' wedding. I kept at it for about 10 years until I hated it so bad, I had to quit.

I do very little to make the money I make, and like it just fine. I work at home, set my own hours, and only do it if I feel like it. I have to fill the orders that come in, from my web site, but promoting the business to make it grow is all up to me. If I hadn't created this "monster", I would happily do other things and still stay home............crafts, cooking, playing with grandkids, etc.

    Tink,

I just started my career as a hairstylist. I'm 35 and have been working now for 6 months. I stayed home and like yourself , I felt guilty. Its a woman thing!!! I wish I would have let myself enjoy staying home. My house was clean and I had family dinners that were nice. I didn't struggle with working evenings or weekends. ............... BUT most of all my biggest regret of being in this industry is my own hair !!!!!

I had GREAT hair before I went to beauty school. It got FRIED! Next my legs became a mess from waxing because of ingrown hairs and their finally almost healed. They were awful! I had joked to a friend how i should have taken a before and after shots of how beautifying beauty school was.

I believe its nicer to be in the chair rather than behind it ! Stay home for God's sakes and enjoy yourself!

jjrizo, What is wrong with me!!! I'm not usually this touchie!!!! I'm sorry! What a bitch!

Mulan, LB, jurs, myself, Freepeace and everyone else, thank-you for your comments!

*Smiling* Heck I'm just bored, that's all!!! Yesterday I was watching Oprah and saw where this girl volunteers, goes to hospitals and puts make-up on young girls with cancer. I thought that was wonderful. It was called *Queen for a Day*. Anybody see that? I remember when mom and my friend were termilly ill with cancer and I would go everyweek and do their make-up, nails, whatever they needed to make them feel better. I bought them a wig and fixed it also. Volunteering with something like that is something that I can think about doing.

I think it's great that you went back to school in your thirties!!! Good for you and I wish you all the best!!!! Who know's maybe one of these day's I'll choose to get back into it. It's the only thing that I really know how to do, and I think I'm good at it, but as you've learned, it's HARD work!

Tink........you do what makes YOU happy. Plain and simple.

So many good suggestions here.......school, work, volunteer.

I think volunteering is a fantastic idea. To give of yourself can be so fulfilling. Rocking babies in a crisis nursery, being a listening ear to those in a youth shelter, giving the elderly some time undivided needed attention......aahhh.....the possibilities.

I currently am a SAHM fulltime. I have two older kids in school and one toddler at home-so my days are filled w/"motherly" duties. I thought I would go nuts, but I absolutely love it. Not to work for someone else, make my own schedule, do what I want when I want is absolutely fantastic! I worry about my "expectations" when I get a job outside of the home! "What, no naptime? You gotta be kidding me!"

Well, I did my first volunteer thing yesterday. My sister-in-laws father has been in the intensive care unit for a week after having kidney surgury. Her mother hasn't left the hospital once. So yesterday I loaded all my stuff in my case and went to the hospital. We made us a little beauty shop in the corner of the bathroom and I cut and styled her hair and did her make-up. I also gave her some of my Joe Blasco make-up. She seemed to enjoy it. I hope it made her feel better.

It sure made me feel good.

I wish I could be a stay at home mom. It sure would help in keeping the house clean. That in itself is a full time job. When I was able to say home, my house was so clean you could eat off of my floor. Not anymore.

My sister on the other hand is a stay at home mom, but she is also a lazy one. Her house is still a mess and half the time her husband does the cooking. If I had it as good as she does, my house would be spotless and my husband wouldn't have to do anything when he came home from work. IMHO her husband is to good for her LOL
