It's true there are SOME crooked lawyers, just as there are crooked individuals in all trades & professions. It's a bit unfair to paint everyone with the same brush don't you think. mack

That's something that needs to be kept in mind when attacking ALL Jehovah's Witnesses. Keep in mind the stupidity behind lableing all Jws as being brain washed and etc.

    Anecdotal example:

At the recent Vikie Boer trial in Toronto, the head of the WT Canada legal department (whose name excapes me at the moment), while under oath, pretended that, and testifed that, he was not aware of any book/manual that only elders are allowed to have/read (i.e. the secret elder's book, "Pay Attention to Yourselves and to All the Flock".

That is, he denied knowing about it until counsel for Ms Boer presented it to him on the witness stand. I'm not sure what shade he turned, it wasn't quite red, it was more like green.

The list of lies that sorry windbag told that day is nothing new:

    • JWs are free to decide for themselves if they want to report being molested by another JW
    • JWs first concern is for the victim, and second for the spiritual healt of the perp
    • there is/was no cover-up
    • JWs are free to decide for themselves if they want to receive a medically necessary blood transfusion

He sure had an arrogant, smug look too. But I guess we can't fault him for that, now can we.

Well, Quotes, I'm sure Jesus saw that look on the face of many a Pharisee.

    Monster,

Many lawyers volunteer some of their time for various charitable causes as well, including free legal representation for the indigent. But like you, the vast majority do not volunteer all of their time; they need to make a living. You've spewed venom regarding lawyers working solely for the money yet you've revealed that you own your own business. Until you start devoting 100% of your business proceeds to charitable causes you have no basis for condemning others for expecting compensation for their work.

As for your experiences regarding the integrity of lawyers, attorneys are like anyone else. Birds of a feather . . .

144, I understand your point, however the money I live on is only to pay rent . I don't come from a poor family never said, I did I don't have to work for a living, I work for the childern and other victims here who are suffereing everyday just to make it through the day, childern who are raped and their stories will never be told because no one gives a flying fu.k, So about 98% of my money does go to charitable events. Send some of those caring lawyers over to the West side of Chicago I promise I won't turn them away.

,As far as me "condemning others " for living off it, I simply gave my opinion like EVERYONE else did, you don't have to agree with it, hell you don't have to like it, but like everyone else here I experessed how I felt, plain and simple.

    Peace James

If any of you want to come and donate your time, please do we accept all help just let me know .

Monster: Thanks for your response and your statements regarding generalizations about JWs. The point I was trying to make is that like JWs, attorneys are just people and it is unfair to negatively stereotype or make sweeping generalizations about any group of people based solely on the misconduct of a few.

Having said that, congratulations on your volunteer efforts. It is the efforts of volunteers like yourself that really make a difference in the lives of others!

144, same to you . I understand the point you made also believe it or not next time I will becareful how I "judged" a group of people in the same business. And thanks but i love helping people it's the least I can do.

    Peace James
