yet beleivers never stop once and ask Is something wrong with this picture??

I think thats a broad statement....many believers have exposed this "word faith" cult for being the money motivated destructive hogwash that it is.

I heard fred price on TV say he was raised a JW.

    "Rev. Ike" Sued For Harassment

The televangelist better known as "Reverend Ike," is being sued for sexually harassing his former personal assistant.

Frederick Eikerenkoetter, 60, was named in the $100 million civil suit which accuses the clergyman of "offensively touching and caressing" his male assistant, 25, and then firing him after he resisted the minister's advances. Source: San Francisco Chronicle 10/10/95

RE: the statement that more bloodshed has been committed in the name of God, I offer these figures...
Stalin (hated religious people)-wasn't it something like 20 million?
Hitler (definitely not a Godly man)-6+ million
Communist China and other communist nations-who knows how many

RE:the Spanish inquisitions and other atrocities-if you study their religious documents you'll quickly see that their actions were in opposition to what they claimed to believe. So, they weren't really acting for God. The argument in an earlier post is a tired and unsubstantiated one.

    truth,

Well I think your conculusions leave a little bit unsaid.

You cannot isolate out the religious overtones to everyone of the examples you use, plus those not mentioned. In fact I will propose that almost every conflict, war, pogrom, extermination, in history has had it's foundation mixed with some sort of religious intoloerance.

So trying to obfuscate the role god(s) as a participant in these events, is streching credulity to the limit.

Stalinist communism killed multimillions. Would you consider stalinist communism to be a religion? I would, though it isn't usually thought of like that.

While that maybe true it only highlights the problem with Belief Systems one man hogwash is another man's salvation

he has over 16,000 folks along with perhaps millions in his TV audience who feel that he directing them to god in the correct way

are you saying that those who follow his views are NOT SERVING GOD CORRECTLY??

Thereby according to most christain beleif system that puts them on the road to hell-

my position is very simple- i see NO DIFFERENCE IN ONE BELIEF SYSTEM in comparison to another and why??

well you put it best when you called 16,000 folks belief system : "hogwash"

you see belief systems by definition must condemn other belief system -even if they use the same guide be it the koran, bible ,whatever for if not then what is the difference

so belief systems go off proclaiming WE GOT THE INSIDE TRACK TO GOD AND YOU DON'T

that is the basic, bottom line message of all major belief systems

    SS,

Communisim much like socialisim is adopted by many as a substitue for religion. One of the definitions of 'religion' is "A cause, priniciple, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion", so yes I agree almost any cause or belief structure can be considered a religion.

    Jt,

Once you come to the conclusion you have just presented, it becomes very difficult to promote one belief system as THE TRUTH, THE WAY over any other..............that is where the wtbs and every other religion/cult ends up........in a stalemate. My god can beat your god up!

Like you have said many times 'do it our way, or you die'. To buy into any religion, one must be prepared for the really hard question:

Will other's not worshiping my god, be saved? If the answer is yes, then who really cares what god or belief you have, everyone is foot loose and fancy free to do whatever they please. Yet how many 'true believer's, honestly answer this question? Iam afraid when push comes to shove, Allah is not acceptable to Christians or vice versa.

    Ah yes, Fred Price.

Oh, about 3 or 4 years ago I was flipping through the channels one morning and there he was preaching in his church. When something catches my attention, I will stop and watch for however long I am kept amused. Well, Mr. Price caught my attention one particular morning when he was berating his "flock" about tithing and rubber checks. Apparently, some of his followers were writing bum checks and Mr. Price had had just about enough of it. Seeing that he drives a Rolls, the message must have been received loud and clear.
