Absolutely. The man who "coined" this phrase certainly knew that... and yet, he STARTED a "religion"... where the "members" turned from calling themselves (as directed "by divine providence") "christians"... to "Jehovah's Witnesses." Why? According to them, to identify themselves as separate and distinct from other "christian" religions.
Then why am I giving the Watchtower Society unbiased treatment by (gulp) pointing out their positive aspects not just accentuating the negative?
Well, seeing as they plagerized the teachings of God and Christ, as well as some of their servants, as well as stole the very description of Christ (the "Truth")... to utilize to once again to ENSLAVE God's people... through FEAR... rather than RELEASING them and setting them FREE by means of such Truth from condemnation...
Seeing they taught/teach their members to try to live by means of "works of righteousness"... rather than by means of "works of faith"...
And seeing that they use their ill-gotten gain of "law"... which they STOLE... from Christ... to belittle his sheep, to judge them, to burden and load them down... all the while holding the thought that PROBABLY you will be saved (but only if you do what WE tell you to...)...
Rather than teach LOVE and MERCY... but instead hatred and condemnation...

Perhaps you think the Israelites should have been grateful that they were permitted to live under Pharaoh's "rule": they at least had leeks and cucumbers... and meat... to eat, yes? Or have you forgotten that they DID, after all... repeatedly prefer the "bitter" portion meted out to them in Egypt... over the freedom offered them by God Himself? ("Hey, Pharaoh wasn't SO bad... but this JAH... well, what's He got to offer, other than some water and some hoar-frosty looking "bread"? Nahh, things weren't really SO bad back there in Egypt, were they?")
