Transferred to L.A.

A guy was sitting in an airplane when another guy took the seat
beside him. The new guy was a wreck, pale, hands shaking,
biting his nails and moaning in fear.
"Hey, pal, what's the matter?" said the first guy.

"OmiGod.... I've been transferred to Los Angeles, California,"
the second answered. "They've got race riots, drugs. The highest crime
rate....."
"Hold on," said the first. "I've been in L.A all my life, and its not bad as
the media says. Find a nice home, go to work, mind your own business,
enroll your kids in a good school and it's as safe as anywhere in the world."
The second guy stopped shaking for a moment and said "Oh, thank God. I was worried to death, but if you live there and say it's ok, I'll take
your word for it. .....What do you do for a living?"

"...Me?" said the first, "...I'm a tail gunner on a bread truck."

I am working in LA, near the LAX airport, and things there are going downhill lately. The people I work with think I am crazy, since I walk to work each day. Driveby shootings via gang activities are happening a lot lately. Its too bad that in socialist california, only the bad guys can have a gun.....

Right on, Animal. There hasn't been anybody in CA governement since Reagan that wasn't lobotomized. CA crows about 7th, then 5th size of economy in the world (they are now backtracking to 6th), but they have driven thousands of business out. CA-gov IS ANTI-BUSINESS.

I am tired of going outside CA and having to defend the stupid politcs of total idiots that think they can run everybodies lives from Sacramento.

Climate's great, opportunities are gone and the government is beyond stupid.

But guess what: CALIFORNIA IS BROKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I let my company worry about the bills .... but the place I am working in LA looks like its headed out too.....

Many of the liberal teaching in California have ended up biting them in the ass... and businesses are smart to leave for better/cheaper/safer places to operate. Have you ever seen the movie "Escape from New York"? Part 2 will be real, and about LA.

I totally agree with you... I live in L.A. too. A month ago Californian had a choice between Dumb and Dumber to pick for Govenor. They picked Dumber....the most anti-business governor around, just at a time when we need all the business this state can handle. In the last 20 years this State has really gone down hill. I think 92 year old Ronald Reagan with Altzheimers could run the state better than the current ~~crooks~~ politicians.

I thought that sounded familiar: I searched through a couple 'o hundred Laser Discs & found "Escape From LA" starring Kurt Russell, produced by John Carpenter. Ol' Kurt looks evil on the jacket cover. He is sporting an eye-patch, a scowl and says "Snake is back"

My goodness, I thought Francois and I were a minority here, conservatively speaking that is.

It is good to hear people calling it like it is. My lady and I have a little piece of property in the high sierras of California, hoping to build our little cabin in the woods, when retirement happens. Just yesterday we were talking about how much we want to get out of California for all the above reasons!

Nevada looks better every day.
