When I was at my sisters for Christmas, I notice that she had many of my grandmothers old photos. She had one of them reproduced for my sister Laurie and myself.

I used to go through grandmas photos often and was so glad to see them again. I saw one that I had never seen before also. It was of my great great grandmother Pieske and her family of, I believe it was nine children. Wendys' mother board went out on her pc, but she promised when she either had it fixed or bout a new one, sometime this week that she would scan them all and e-mail them to me. I'll them buy photo paper and print myself a copy of each. I love history, and family history is my favorite. I can't wait to get them all.

Here is a picture of my great grandmother and grandfather Lackie. (grandma Pieskes, mom and dad) She is the reason I got my first job in MN as a nursing assistant. I wanted to help take care of her when she was in the nursing home.

Do any of you have old family photos you'd like to share? I'd love to see them if you do.

Very nice picture, Shari. I too like seeing old pictures of family, but don't have many myself. Here is the oldest one I have, my Grandma Waters (granny to us) when she was 16 and still a McGraw, taken in 1914.

She divorced somehwere in the 30s and ended up raising 5 kids by herself, 4 boys and 1 daughter. She died in late 1991, almost making it to her 94th birthday. She took my sisters and I to church regularly (First Assembly of God) and was the only reason we got any religious teaching at all as my parents had little use for religion.

Lilacs, I wish I could put up some pictures, but I don't have the scanner and printer to do it. I have pictures of my grandparents when they were in their 20's. They were born in the 1880's. I never saw the picture of my grandmother when she was young until after she had died. I found her to be breathtakingly beautiful as a young woman. I also have a picture of my great, great, great, great grandfather's brother, taken when he was an old man. He was born, circa 1810.

These are a few of the old photos we have.

The above is my husband's Great Grand-mother Alice Freeland Alexander, wife to Joisah Alexander son of Rufus Alexander and Nancy M. Montgomery. Rufus's Great Great Uncle was Hezekiah Alexander who was a Revolutionary War Hero, helped settle Charlotte, wrote the charter for Queen's College, and Signed the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence. Which was the pre-cursor to the 1776 Declaration of Independence.

    Take care,

    X.

Lew, were your McGraw relatives then or now, living in or near Independence, KY? Especially the grandmother who died in '91?

    Holding my breath.
