CHRISTIANS NEED ONE ANOTHER
Ephesians 4:25: "We are members belonging to one another."
Introduction
The WTS uses the illustration of a body at 1 Corinthians 12:14-26 (not quoted in the magazine) to show how the Christian congregation views each individual member.
The problem is that the WTS assumes that all bodies function in harmony at all times. I can think of several illnesses that make a body attack its own members, cancer for one. Other illnesses identify healthy cells as dangers and attack and destroy. I feel that there is a cancer in the WTS, one of hate and hypocrisy and fear.
While the WTS says things such as this:
Although one member of the congregation should not feel superior to others, neither should anyone consider himself unimportant.
But others can consider you unimportant.
Christians need one another.
Who would the elders lord it over?
"Since they belong to one another there is truthful communication and full cooperation."
Happily united with them are truthful, cooperative Christians having an earthly hope. Thousands hoping to live in an earthly paradise are baptized.
There is the real motive again, the earthly paradise. No one wants to vindicate Jehovahs sovereignty and sanctify his name.
Mature members of the congregation aid in answering Scriptural questions, providing practical assistance in the ministry, setting a fine example through regular participation in Christian meetings.
But if you need a buck or two or help with your children at the KH, forget it!
THEY OFFERED NEEDED HELP
Aquila and Prisca risked their own lives.
Both taught Apollos more correctly.
Application to today, when is the last time a JW exposed their life for your benefit? Or
Comments made by fellow worshipers can often help to enhance our understanding of Gods Word. (How, by reading it out of the paragraph?)
PROVIDING MATERIAL ASSISTANCE
Philippian congregation sent material provisions to Paul.Demonstrating a readiness to contribute beyond their means. We are not told whether Epaphroditus was an elder or a ministerial servant (does it matter). Nevertheless, he was a self-sacrificing and helpful Christian (in spite of not being an elder). Is there someone like him in your congregation?THEY WERE STRENGTHENING AIDSSome of our fellow worshipers may be much like (not likely)Assistance in basic, practical matters (help you move, get a job, give rides to the store and doctor?)Should not all of us endeavor to be strengthening aids to fellow Christians?Christian elders in particular must be strengthen aids, willingly and tenderlyWOMAN WHO CARED ABOUT OTHERSIn the present-day Christian congregation, there are women like Dorcas who may make garments (women are only good for such things)Of course, their good works primarily have to do with promoting Kingdom interests.WE NEED YOU YOUNG ONES TOOPeople were comfortable around Jesus because he was loving and compassionate. Jesus took little ones into his arms and blessed them.Thats right, Brother Pervert was only being like Jesus. While young, Jesus showed love for God and the Scriptures, so should young ones today.WHEN ADVERSITY STRIKESLove prompts us to help fellow Christians in need. Organize a collection, superivised a fund, voluntary donations.Contributions for needy fellow believers today (in far away places not your own congregation) are also voluntary and motivated by love.Next week partiality, murmuring, slander, showing honor, serving shoulder to shoulder will be discussed.Pictures page 8 and 9(1) Congregation study the Watchtower using the Bible (or is that studying the Bible using the WT?)Anomalies:People are sitting in the front rowsPeople have their Bibles openFew family groups (young people with friends not parents)Almost half men present (mostly women ususally)- Older bald black man with glasses walking in the field ministry with younger black man perhaps instructing him how they did it in the old days.
