    Francios,

True True True! Amazing how they got alot of computer, satalite, and nuclear tech when Clinton was around. Im sure it had nothing to do with his favorite Chinese fundraiser (who is now in jail). F- Clinton. Good old Clinton- a draft dodging communist sellout.

Im looking forward for our newest toys to come on line.

    hehe my last statement said:

I'm not saying anything about whether this was right or wrong. Just simply saying it happened and so is it any wonder that Saddam was making it difficult for the inspectors to do their work?

You spent most of your response in stating we were right to spy on him and it was a good thing. I was going to state (in my last post) that I'm not interested in the ethics of spying on him and it being right or wrong since I don't see what that had to do with this? Some of the UN inspectors were spies, and Saddam restricted their movement and hindered them from doing their job. As a result of some of them being spies, and Saddam hindering their work, they were withdrawn. Like Blix said, they were too closely associated with intelligence and western states so this messed it all up and ruined it. If there were no spies there, would the inspectors still be there now instead of being gone for four years? Who knows!

    Agreed.

Also, don't forget about all the US weapons technology that Israel has sold to China. Patriot missles, Phoenix air-to-air missles, Lavi fighter, etc. I'm surprised the US intervened to stop the AWACS sale to China.

Dolphman, your responses to my comments didn't prove any points. ???

Numerous people have stated that just because they feel the USA is a bully does not mean that don't appreciate the freedom enjoyed in this country, nor does it mean we'd rather see China as a superpower. Why do all of you continually jump to the same retarded conclusions?

Actually I think your wrong. What I'm doing when I remind someone of the other possibilities out there (China being the world's only superpower, etc) is I'm putting this all into something called PERSPECTIVE. Sure, no one has to agree with Bush's policies and people can think he's a bully. But seriously, GET REAL. I think it's important for people to think about this, because THEIR ARE PEOPLE who don't factor this in, who really think WE ARE BIGGEST BADDEST BULLYs the world has ever seen. And I'm sorry, but If you think about the other alternatives to a US Superpower.

    ?????

    • Some say USA is a bully
    • You say, "would you rather China be a superpower?"
    • I say "Just because USA may seem to be a bully does not mean I'd rather see China as the only Superpower.
    • You say, "I think you're wrong." Then I read 3 more sentences, but none of them say how I'm wrong. Point being, a country that is a superpower doesn't automatically become a bully. There are a ton of things the USA could be doing differently to win the support of these countries that feel they are being a bully. Whether or not another country would act in the same manner if they were a superpower is irrelevant. More than likely they would be the new bully on the block, and possibly a more attrocious world power. That's not the debate here though. You talk in circles man.
You're brainwashed by American patriotism, just the way they want you to be

Actually, I'm the farthest thing from a gun-toting Republican. I went to an artsy-fartsy school, did drugs for years in a band and am an ex-con to boot. I have simply decided to PUT DOWN THE HASH PIPE and have accepted the reality that is before us. The reason I started this thread is because no matter how much you think the US is a bully, no matter how much anyone hates Bush, no matter how much you really really want the world to be a safe, happy place...the fact is PEOPLE WANT TO KILL US. Some have "legitimate" reasons, other reason are really dumb. No amount of hand-holding can protect us. Sorry. Get used to it

Again, talking in circles proving no point. I realize people want to kill us. And you know, demonstrating can be very effective. Do you think Martin Luther King would've accomplished what he did without the support of the black community speaking out loud and demonstrating? Doubt it. And if you take the time to look deeper into the fact that people want to kill us and look at the reason WHY they want to kill us, then maybe you can get past the brainwashed patriotic message sent to everyone. If more focus were given to our foreign policy, I bet there would be less people trying to kill us, therefore less need to go bombing other countries. But by looking at your responses I feel the hash pipe that you've admittedly abused in the past has affected your ability to reason and stay on topic. My reasoning abilities are fine, my friend, and I'm sure several people here would agree with me. I hope. :-P

Iraq is next, and after Iraq there will be another one - I bet you bottom dollar

Who is it going to be? France? C'mon folks. America isn't taking over the world. It's fighting terror and getting rid of weapons of mass destruction. I'm glad SOMEONE is. THIS IS WHAT I HATE THE MOST ABOUT COMMENTS PEOPLE LIKE YOU MAKE. Your acting as if the only reason America is doing any of this is for selfish, capitalist reasons. Their are americans DYING to protect you from terror and this is the only conclusion you can come to. SICK. I doubt the last guy killed in Afghanistan would agree with you.

FRANCE? C'mon dude. How about North Korea? They are the other part of the axis of evil, and so is Iran. You think Bush is gonna make a statement like that and just let them continue to be "evil"? doubt it. He'll go and bomb them too. Dude, do some research on "New World Order", also check out a website called http://www.voxnyc.com There are a lot of conspiracies out there - who knows which ones are true, but there are also a lot of facts that cannot be over-looked as well. After thoroughly reading tons of info on this subject, I've come to the conclusion that I don't trust one thing the government says it is or isn't doing without some sort of concrete evidence supporting such. Hopefully you'll get to that point someday too.

    Lastly:

But c'mon, unless you can invent a longer lasting lightbulb or a windmill that can generate enough electricity in the next month, we're fucked. Looks like we're all still dependent on oil. So once again, instead of blaming BUSH for everything that goes wrong in the world, try looking at the more obvious reasons.

Why are we still dependent on oil? Because we CHOOSE TO BE. There are other ways, but nobody wants to sacrifice time and MONEY to pursue these CLEANER RESOURCES such as wind and solar polar. For example, what if American car manufacturers stopped making gas cars and started making electric cars only? (Some electric cars have gas motors too, but they are a lot more efficient). This would lessen our demand for oil tremendously and contribute to cleaner air, yet the auto industry would more than likely suffer from a drop in sales, and good 'ol Bush & Co. would loose HELLA money from a drop in oil revenue. Who else is to blame for not signing the Kyoto treaty besides BUSH? Other countries are taking a step in the right direction by conserving energy, encouraging the purchase of electric cars, using solar and wind power, but noooo, not the USA.

    Take the blinders off dude.

Heroism on command, senseless violence, and all the loathsome nonsense that goes by the name of patriotism - how passionately I hate them! ~Albert Einstein

Patriotism is your conviction that this country is superior to all other countries because you were born in it. ~George Bernard Shaw

From my reasearch I am unaware of any country in the world that supports the US in this impending attack except for Great Britain and Israel. Does anyone know of another?

If I don't reply for awhile it's because I hit too hard on my crack pipe.

    I just want to add my bit. I don't have anything against the US. I couldn't bring myself to work for one of the largest American corporations if I did, and believe me, I have to do things "the American way". But I am puzzled sometimes by the seeming contradiction;

as US workers, we are fed a constant supply of anti-racial retoric. We are sent on courses about diversity teaching us that all colours, creeds and races, even homosexuals are all equal. I have never been through this with a British company.

I even have to sign my life away to say I abide by these priciples.

Then I go home, switch on the TV and see your president and his anti-terroist propoganda... and it does not seem he's playing by the same rule book the rest of you "free" Americans are. Then to top it off, he ends with a statement to the effect "becuase we're the best nation in the world".

It made a complete mockery of all the training my great American company I work for has put me through as far as race is concerned. I was gob-smacked.

I think some of these things will make people wince when they look back on them.
