Well,

I got up at 6am and took Alex to the airport:(, then I went home and jumped online looking for lawyers. I found 186 in Dallas that deal with custody. I called about 12 and left messages. I got a call back from a lawyer and arranged to see her at 10am. I went by my x's house to get a copy of the papers that have been served. I asked my x to ride with me and he did (even though he is sick).

Well, I have some good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1---my son doesn't have to go to court and talk with the judge cause they have shown no grounds to have him interviewed. 2----I don't have to appear cause I haven't been served. 3---My x will tell the judge their is no reason for this lawsuit and we were not given any time to attain a lawyer. 4---The lawyer didn't charge us for the legal advice or for seeing her today.

So, this is the first step and also a big sigh of relief for me and my x. We don't want my son in the middle of this at all and so far we don't have to.

The law firm my x mother in law has attained is a viscious one (quoting the lawyer we spoke with today), so I doubt this is over, but we have won the first small battle.

I am in better spirits and am a little more confident about our case.

Glad to hear that your son doesn't have to be involved. He shouldn't be made to appear, I think it's wrong to drag kids into things like this.

Jesika, it is sad that your mother thinks it is necessary to play this mean little game, but so happy she has no leg to stand on, legally. I pray that this woman will see the error of her ways, and drop the whole thing. Or else the Judge give her a severe tongue lashing and charge all legal costs to her. You go girl.

Thank everyone. I really want to thank you all for standing behind me and supporting me. I was a reck about this ordeal.

Jgnat-------just wanted to make it clear that it isn't MY mom it is my x's mom. My mom and stepdad are paying all fees we may have to pay.

Oh, we are going to countersue my x mother in law for all fees my mom and step dad will have to deal out because of this temper tantrum my mother in law is throwing. So, she will pay whether the judge says she should only by the judges personal opinion. Hopefully we will get this resolved ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!!!!!!!! After this battle, hopefully she will finally leave us alone about our decisions as parents and finally know her PLACE!!!!!!!! I just hope this turns out the way we hope. <crossing fingers>
