Thanks fark.....I should have guessed that. I forgot how long it's been and how time flies. My daughter is 28 and going strong as a dub because sadly, ....I've only been out 7 years and raised her as one. I know you are grateful you have your kids since the rest of your family is still in......it would be tough if your children were still in and also shunned you.
Congratulations to your daughter, Farkel. I love to hear about women who work hard and achieve such a goal. It is good that she has a father who has encouraged too, so congrats to Dad.
My son graduates Law School this year - hopefully somewhere along the line, he won't meet your daughter in Court at opposite tables? Same age as your daughter also.
But he was raised a jw. Good thing he had the sense to fight me & go away to college on his own. I was proud of him then (for college) - and got flack from brothers for allowing him to go, but double proud of him now.
Btw, I've helped at several home births "back then." Fascinating.
You have 3 kids? So do I. I hope your others are doing fine also? Mine are too.
I didn't know you had children either! I can see why you are a proud papa!
My heart goes out to the JW children who are discouraged from being all that they can be and following their dreams in life. My son changed his major from being a History Teacher to being a Pharmacist in his junior year too. My daughter wasn't going to go on to college from High School when she graduated simply because she didn't know where she wanted to go in life or what she wanted to do in life, careerwise. I told her that is ok to not know where you are going. You can still go to college and decide along the way. Even if she changes her mind 3 times along the way!
Congratualations to you and your daughter!
peace,
gwen
edited to correct my spelling of the word pharmacist. I can never claim that my children inherited their brains from their mother! Fortunately for them.
