I don't like it when a smoker blows smoke in my face, but since I left the WT org., I feel more and more that people can do whatever they want to do.

One of my JW friends, has a son (not a dub) who smokes, and her husband acts like he is actively being a criminal. I just don't get the emotion behind the hatred of smoking.

Sure, if it affects your health, don't do it..............don't start, if you care about your health. I do believe smoking can cause cancer, but obviously doesn't cause it in every smoker. And there are people who die of lung cancer, who never smoked. I know plenty of smokers who lived long lives, without heart problems or cancer. You can read about it everyday in the paper. There are other factors at work there.

For those who compare kissing a smoker to licking an ashtray, when was the last time you licked an ashtray. And why?

I don`t know......I have only stopped smoking now for 7 months..and have`nt had the opportunity to kiss a smoker or non smoker....

This is interesting.

I dont mind being around smokers, but I dont care for it directly in my face.

For some reason, I also think a pipe or a cigar smells better than cigeretts.

Would I kiss someone who smoked? If I loved them, yes I would.

it would depend on how good looking she was. although if she wasnt good looking i wouldnt be kissing her in the first place.

I think I would have a really hard time having a relationship with someone who smokes. I have family who died horrible deaths from cancer, and I am unable to escape the mental imagery everytime I see someone light up. But there are other things as well that would also cause me not to want to date someone.

This being said, I truly sympathize with those who are trying to quit smoking. Friends tell me it is the most addictive thing ever, and truly a torturous experience trying to quit.

Mulan, actually I have licked an old ash tray. I would have been about 5 years old, and had some strange tastes back then. I remember playing with my Dinkies in a sand pit then licking then clean afterwards.
