The name of that 15-year old is Mike Moss. He's an abuse survivor. Part of the program is about his story.

If the only thing that this Television Program accomplishes is preventing ONE "interested" person from from becoming a Jehovah's Witness, then it was all worth while.

These Programs are doing much more than that though. MUCH MORE!

I am certain that other Media are going to catch on.

I thought it was an excellent, factual program. It helps innoculate the general public. I still think the average witness is a good person, but they listen to some really bad advise. I would say that this program helps change the perception of those well dressed people from just weird to scary creepy too. After all, what could they be hiding? Is that really a pedophile at your door?

    JH. . .

This program is about awareness, I think. People think that the JWs are a harmlessly mild and meek little group that comes around the neighbourhood trying to talk about the Bible. . . . Like Lady Lee said, "Does the public care?" Not really. . . only when it affects them personally. . .then they would care (as in a JW dating their daughter).

I figure, if people will see them from a newer perspective when they come around, that will help a little. If the JWs come around the neighbourhood and people think, "Where are my children?" Well, that would be waaaaay more than I would expect.

This program will help the survivors more than anyone else. Part of the healing process is facing their persecutors/attackers and feel that they were heard. . .by someone. They got to state their case! The survivors certainly know that they were heard/supported/believed/validated by us here in the forum. And I think they certainly did make their presence known to their persecutors . . . Even if the persecutors are too self-righteous to admit to any wrong-doing. . . . It is just the nature of the beast. They did ruffle a few feathers. The HQ did cautiously respond . . . they simply had to because of the seriousness of the charges . . . even if it was only with carefully worded releases. They could not risk a public inteview, that would be too risky and fraught with too much danger, for the jws. And even if the releases were full of lies and hypocracy to cover their a$$e$, they did respond.<gag>

Scully, what your mom said was a real eye-opener for me. What jws will say and think to justify what is happening in their ranks! . . .<shaking head in disbelief> You know what, honey? One day your mom may be walkin' right outta those kingdom hall doors in disgust! Just as soon as she realizes what she is saying in defence of the organization!

As well, the comment about the jws being on a learning curve. . . pure garbage! They simply will not admit that they were wrong/made a mistake/erred in their judgment. Bottom line: They still think they are appointed by God and can do nooooo wrong! And now excuse me 'cuz I gotta go barf!!!
