If its alcohol or emotions, perhaps all it would take is a 24/48 hr posting ban on the site. Just let the person cool down and sober up.

But there are some people who have unwisely attached themselves to persons like that who want out. Persons who have not made serious and false accusations against you, this board or the persons who post here. But, in order to get out, and return here, do we really want them to give an abject apology?

Sure, some people get pushed along / taken adventage of, I'm well aware of that. Of course I have nothing against people who have not been malicious.

Hey E-man,I read your post.I think you have a big heart and the best of intentions, but I have to agree with Simon..In real life I am sometimes hired to take care of these sorts of problems in person..Not every one responds to a time out..Some must be asked to behave or leave..Some do not respond to a request,so they must be tossed out..If everyone had your attitude, the world would be a better place, and I would be out of a job...OUTLAW

Speaking of which, Fred Hall's health is holding out. He still loves Jessica Alba, so there is still hope for him to leave the JWs if he hasn't.

I'm sure he misses being here, but he is a stubborn kitty cat.

    Hello,

I offer this post with some general comments. As a member of a number of discussion lists not religiously affiliated but which generate some equally emotional and entrenched viewpoints as we see on this Board. I have to admit that I have never seen such verbal inferno's on these other lists despite the often widely opposing viewpoints, as I have seen on XJW Boards. I have also been thinking about the value of expending enormous tracts of time spent on XJW discussion Boards often in the cause of winning what to be honest against the backdrop of history of which we are all a part, are very small arguments indeed.

A strange sort of gullibility and a desire to be led seems to be a common link with most of us as JW's and it is not one that is easily lost. This gullibility and an ability to easily acquiesce to authority eventually imprisoned our spirit and with many others damaged their outlook in life, sometimes for decades. The WTS also guaranteed a sense of community that many of us ached for, and a social structure that was missing in our lives, providing of course that one subjected oneself to its authority. Keep humble as an ass and our Masters would even kindly chew our food for us.

Another equally destructive philosophy that kept us together within the WTS was an impenetrable arrogance that dictated in all events that we are right and everybody else is wrong.

I think that mix of these various elements noted above, roost like a nest of chubby eagles on XJW discussion Boards. It seems that many of us are still at war in our own minds and frequently choose the nearest person, friend or foe, to vent our frustration upon.

It is not surprising that many cling to what they see as XJW authority figures ( often those who have exited the WTS many years ago ) and follow their thinking and even their methods of dealing with discussion Board issues and personalities. It is surprising that this should happen so easily, but perhaps this has something to do with the perpetual adolescence that many in the WTS seem to have been locked in and exiting the WTS is the first step for some on a delayed road to personal growth.

When a person believes and respects themselves they no longer crave an authority figure, and are less sensitive to what others say about them and subsequently are perhaps a little more rational about the person who has the power to pull the plug on them. They no longer think, 'I had better not post that comment / word on the Board as Simon might ban me', but would rather respect Simons wishes as Board owner, and merely shrug their shoulders if Simon or another moderator does something that they disagree with.

As I have said before, I have seen Simon act inconsistently at times, I have seen EMan do likewise, and personally I am proud of my own inconsistency as it negates the issue of self-boredom, but to shout 'liar' like some rallying call every time we see some human failing is elevating ourselves into an area of life that will eventually return to haunt us. We will become victims of our own standards.

It also has to be said that quite a few persons who post to this Board are suffering emotional issues that they need serious help with, help beyond what any on-line life can give them and often this can cause chaos on these discussion Boards. I personally give such people a wide berth as I am not equipped to help and would probably amplify their problem. I also think that it is unfair of them to expect the diverse plethora of personalities that make up this Board to understand their problems to any great degree. All in all, I think the Board runs as well as it could in the circumstances and perhaps we might all smile a little brighter if we learned not to take ourselves too seriously.

That having been said Simon - you are a liar and a large one at that and I am sending several hundred links, which took me sixteen hours to track down to prove it. By the way, both your children are liars as well as being Watchtower plants, if you deny this you yet again prove yourself to be a liar. Another thing, Mother Teresa was a liar, she should actually have called herself Father Teresa if you get my meaning. What is this world coming to?

    ha ha ... thanks HS

I have to come clean and admit it's true ... it's all lies ... but the real truth is stranger than you think:

I am actually an alien from the planet "zarg" sent to study human behaviour but unfortunately, shortly after landing, I fell in love with the earthling creature call Britney and forgot about my mission for a while. It seemed the internet was the best place to find Britney as I got lots of emails promising that I would see her naked (as well as get university diplomas, a bigger penis and cheap breast enlargements) form some group called "spam". I still await further instructions from my homeland and unfortnately was surfing when the no. 8 Hale-Bop-To-Home turned up and missed it. Now I spend my time among your race trying to figure out how you manage to function without telepathy (and only two legs but I don't want to get into that right now)

    Yoo-hoo!

Simon is a liar, LIAR, LIAR!

He clearly stated that he came from the planet Zarg. This is totally untrue and will only be believed by the Simonite Clan.

I have emails on my hard-drive, thousands of 'em actually, in which he states quite categorically that he emenates from the planet Zaag and not Zarg.

I realy don't know if I can continue to post here with all of these

    BLATANT LIES

    flying around.
