    Hey Brummie...good question.

Um...I'd say...(from what I remember anyways) the topic of the 'second death'.

I guess I'm headed there...right now...I wouldn't mind, given my rotten sleeping patterns. Feels like a third death right now. But you know what I mean.

I'm sure that is still in full effect. If anyone knows otherwise, lemme know.

The Watchtower is the only oraganization that pleases God or can understand the bible.

Joy you are right, I never thought of that one..duur. In saying that I dont think they used the name so much in the early days until Rutherford in 1931 so they havent always been consistent in stressing the need to use it. Still, they have always recognised it.

starScream they havent always been consisent in their view of WHO God was using, the F&D Slave was soley Russell and they taught God didnt have an "organisation" as it was unscriptural. It was Rutherford who introduced the idea that God had an organisation on earth. So no consistency there.

    thanks for your thoughts.

Razor I'm not sure about their early teachings on the 2nd death, you may have a 3rd doctrine they have been consistent with, I will have to check through some of Russells books I have and see if it changed.

I still dont know how to edit my posts yet or I could have included this in the last post. Any tips on editing?

    Nathan,
I have seen pics of the Christmas Tree at Bethel and I have read Daily Manna's with Christmas lists and the suggestion that it would make a nice Christmas gift...so that has not been consistently rejected.

Here's one I did not even remember until I re read it---how about the TWO PART Time of the End from the Paradise Lost Paradise Regained book? they called the end end- the 'Accomplished End'-and they also claimed that the great tribulation(small letter not capital notice) was the great trouble on Satan's Org from the war in heaven in 1914--not what the JWs claim it is today.(see page 189 pp. 14-17 and also the previous chapter where the 'Great Trib.' is not even mentioned at all in the signs of the Time of the End...)they don't even use the phrase Great Tribulation. So when did that idea come into it? Had to be after 1959...

The WTS has been pretty consistent in demonizing the Catholic Church although Rutherford did it with more vigor.

YOu know you asked for it with this question.... so here goes....

They are consistent in the use of fear and guilt and shame.

They consistenly judge others, though they preach tolerance and love.

They consistently reject any free thought, as heresy.

They consistently treat women as property to be owned and controlled.

I know... I know... you said one thing. Just close your eyes and put your finger on the screen, and take your pick.

Minimus you are right about that. I am thinking of consistent "doctrines" taken from their interpretation of Scripture. CT Russel did reject the bible as the word of God but this was before he founded the WT so it doesnt count but just mentioned this to show that HE personally wasnt even consistent in that.

Ravyn thanks for that, very interesting.

Blondie, right, but they havent been consistent in their "doctrine" on the Catholic church, The 7 studies used to teach the pope was the archangel (Michael?) and followed by his demons (the catholic priests and things?), these days they are just part of "BabylonTG"

kat_newmas you are right on every account but these wouldnt be considered "doctrines" but more like policies.

    Thanks again

I'm sure there are others somewhere, isnt it pitiful though that we have to think hard to find any current day doctrine that they have been consistent on from the beginning?
