Asking people to define a god so it can be discussed or debated and then just dismissing any silent or absent god as "irrelevant", "worthless" or "pointless", is empty. (argumentum ad lapidem)
This could be avoided by simply giving a justification for the dismissal

No one is asking you to define god that way, it's simply the best any believer has been able to do. Hardly my fault.

ose are big words, considering to the pile* you can show for,-- compared to the majestic edifice that we live in.
    * not trying to belittle your achievements ( if any).

Oh, no worries! You're not capable of belittling me. Also, I can try to use smaller words next time if you promise to at least try to construct your responses in a way that makes sense.

, no worries! You're not capable of belittling me. I was not, I was trying to give you credit. Perhaps your accomplishments included getting a new law passed in the legislature you are sitting in (like the laws of nature), , or as an engineer you managed to design and align machinery the way the creator's Earth/Moon system'-, the Sun's , -- and your life/moods are synchronized in the ~ 28 day rotation cycle. but in case you haven't, there is always the pile and those big words of record.

    ...like the laws of nature...

The laws of nature are no more than human explanation of what we see happening around us. What we observe makes sense (read: seems organized) to us because we are here (read: we're the survivors of untold catastrophic destructive events) to see those things the way those things have come to this point.

What will we have to say about the laws of nature when our terrestrial specie is wiped out by a Shoemaker-Levy type event? Nothing. Because we won't be here to explain how the synchronization was not as well-honed as we'd hoped for in our prayers to god, the creator of this wonderfully tamed universe we live in. (Read: sarcasm)

    God Discussion

My take on this subject is this: The subject of God is the subject of how humans attempt to understand the universe our specie lives in. Humans are like guttural bacteria. We live in a universe with no clue what is beyond it. So we attempt to explain what we see based on information we do not have. Because we recognize our puniness in the universe, we assume something much bigger (read: more powerful and smarter) than ourselves is behind the event of our world. For millenniums the term assigned to this theory is "god".

Prologos, weak attempts at snark don't detract from your failed and erroneous arguments. Rather than try to tear others down, have you ever considered making yourself better?

wiped out by a Shoemaker-Levy type event. Marvin,

Albert Einstein marveled or mused (sarcastically no doubt): " did the good lord have any choice in making the laws of nature the way they are?"

I am not saying the solar system was designed in our favour. but it so happened that all fell into place, given the time/law/space/energy/matter mix ,--that we could evolved in it, . and yes, It is good to have Big Brother Jupiter generate orbital resonances, scoop and break up debris, and after all, past impacts here on Earth were tools to shape our arrival too.

    No. 8) Deist.

So what are you saying, prologos? That it's fortunate that life evolved where conditions were favorable? Where else would you expect it to evolve?

Does Anyone Still Believe in God?

I hate that word - belief.

I don't want to believe things, I want to know things!

If God doesn't exist, then I don't need to believe in him; if he does exist, then I likewise don't need to believe in him
