John Aquila : "I don’t believe they have a financial problem. They have billions not millions and a large volunteer army who would fall on a grenade for the organization."

That was my thoughts too. I think the most likely scenario is that they're getting jittery over the current "world conditions" (TM), especially the migrant crisis that doom-mongers are saying is going to end western civilisation as we know it. They are probably desperately fitting it into their prophetic models of overlapping generations, UN and peace and security scenarios as we speak.

Mark my words they are taking an opportunistic advantage of people's fears. The building work will be back on track next year (assuming Armageddon doesn't come in the meantime ahem)

If I had to pick one I'd say number 3. I think Warwick/ other building projects have gone way over budget, they can't go on with the status quo, incoming donations, return on investments etc. isn't what it once was. They need to liquidate their Brooklyn properties to remain long term financial health. I don't think it's quite as serious as some hoped, if they can navigate this next year or two, I think they'll be ok. I don't think they'll ever be what they once were though. I would love to know what their numbers are in the states for English speaking congregations. I honestly think they are bleeding members from that group and its hurting them financially.

I don’t believe they have a financial problem. They have billions not millions and a large volunteer army who would fall on a grenade for the organization. . . . .These guys are shrewd. They haven’t stayed in business over 100 years selling invisible crap because they were dumb. They know how to play the game of deception and they play it well.

I'm still betting this is a strategic move to hide their assets. They can afford the best of accountants and lawyers to help them to shelter assets from the looming litigation.

I think they made expansion plans as an investment because they are hemorrhaging money left and right and they have been for years.

However, something happened all off a sudden that had to put a quick halt on those plans- I.e., losing a crap ton of money suddenly in bad investment(s).

I believe there is something else going on behind the scenes that is not related to money.

They have some kind of "masterplan" "final solution" they are inching towards and they are using shortfalls in funds as a handy smokescreen.

They probably always intended to get rid of the branches and only have a "vatican"at Warwick.

We shall see, all will be revealed grasshopper.

I do believe the death knell is ringing. You can't stop building projects that you have been bragging about, then tell everyone this is due to the need to focus on the preaching because the end is upon us. What will they say if they can resume building? They know preaching is not where the money is. They need money, and they need it now! The people aren't giving it and that will not change. They need a continuous flow. Donations will not cut it. My old congregation had to repeatedly modify resolutions because we never met them. They always had to give a local needs about it. I believe the great recession in the U.S had a huge impact. That is why we seen mass changes during that time. Donations were slim. Not everyone has recovered since then. So if you think donations will cover Wt. expenses, then the Watchtower will continue. But if donations can't cover expenses on a regular basis, they will become that poor little church that sits on a corner. Unless they are getting money from outside sources.

If we have 1/3 of the members contribute $100.00 a month.

    3 million x 100= what a month. I don't believe they are hurting....

I really don't know what to make of their financial issues but it would be nice if someone could afford an investigator to look into it.
