Here's my take. People should stop being so interested in symbols and start getting out there helping people.
You know any poor people? I grew up with a lot of lower middle class, hardworking people who couldn't make a buck. Help them.
Have I helped in a small way? Whenever I could.
I'm just sick of people sitting behind their comfortable chairs arguing about how to treat a flag when there are more pressing problems in America. I'm sick of politicians climbing to the top of the ladder on the bodies of their opponents in political slug fests, which are nothing but Democratic/republican pep-rallies. I'm sick of presidents making a name for themselves on the bodies of the young people they send to war.
If I thought I had even a remote chance of becoming president, I would start my campaign now. But, in the end, selfish people will vote for their parties, because they value worthless abortion/anti-abortion, gun control arguments, and personal gain above real people who need their help.
They're comfortable in their posh homes, and cushy jobs, the biggest concern in their lives, the sports teams they follow.
Some independent with a brain needs to inhabit the White House, someone who knows and cares about the little guy.
Flags means nothing if the underpriviledged are being trampled on.
