The Bible is based on the Catholic Church.
How do you work that out? The bible came first, and most of it is Jewish, not Christian.
"Even if this were true (which it isn’t) it would only apply to the new testament. The OT cannon was pretty much established long before Jesus arrived."
Yes,
the the books of the Tanakh;Torah, Nevi'im, and Ketuvm was passed
along each generation by by the rabbinic traditions and use of the Oral
Torah. But the Jewish writings, also, were not set until 450 BC, very much like the need for setting the canon of the catholic writings on the late 300's AD.
According to the Talmud, much of the Tanakh was compiled by the men of the Great Assembly (Anshei K'nesset HaGedolah), a task completed in 450 BCE, and it has remained unchanged ever since
Ultimite Axium, it was unquestionably proven that the catholic church called together to formalize the accurate teachings, the "real" books to make up the canon of the Bible. The catholic church is defined as the entirety of the Christian churchs. The Bible canon was decided upon by the catholic councils.
....and the real truth about the bible that doesn't get mentioned by staunch religionists is that it is made up of fictional mythology that was expressed originally by ancients to created power and relevance to a specific god and what they would like these gods to do for them.
Billions of people today are still emotively attached to these ignorant and imaginary expressions told thousands of years ago by ancient civilizations.
To me it's kinda odd that the bible, which was confirmed around 380ish AD was the result of the Catholic worship as only a part of their faith is now the main form of worship for Christians like JWs who have their own interpretations of what it means, even if they don;t understand the history of where it came from, they do believe that it is the word of God. Thank you Catholic Church for clarifying that..lol
Hey TTWSYF,
There are lots of threads about this subject on this site going back years.
Worth a read if you like this subject.
I hold the Ethiopian Tewahedo Orthodox Canon which includes books like Enoch, Jubilees, and the Testaments of Adam and Eve.
The canon is entirely Catholic.
Also the RCC it's the only one that uses the Septuaginta.
Jews and Protestants use the canon from the Masoretic Text.
The whole bible (quran, too) is a book of witchcraft designed to enslave us all under communism. Do you wish to further that agenda? If so, just keep on pushing that bible.
