    https://www.christianpost.com/news/evangelicals-oppose-removal-of-tax-status-in-canadian-proposal.html

The proposed change will revoke charitable status of Canadian churches who have an anti-abortion position, and will not give tax exemptions to organizations whose sole claim is to promote religion, which is the basic claim for all JW related entities in Canada.

    This will be interesting!

Mmmm let's see ,JW org does no genuine charitable works for people outside their own people.CHECK

JW org has anti abortion stance I suppose (though not loud about it) CHECK

JW org gets money for free from it's members even when they die CHECK

JW org uses it's members to build their real estate portfolio for free CHECK

JW org takes ownership of Kingdom halls at most paying out loans CHECK

JW org just uses people and throws them away if they question anything CHECK

And then they join forces with other orgs to drag money out of governments who give it to them in good faith CHECK

Seems just like a prostitute who wants easy money for little or no emotional outlay !

Canada favors the execution of its youngest citizens? How is being anti-abortion a threat to Canada?

Does Canada support eugenics, medically assisted suicide and euthanasia?

How did a death cult infiltrate Canada?

Will the Canadian wilderness be better off without Canadians?

If they had to pay property tax on their real estate holdings it would definitely put a dent in their finances.

The general idea of government funding is it should help all citizens, not just a select few that believe in a certain way.

Is Canada thinking of joining the EU?

That's like volunteering to be in thrall to your local gangster/loan-shark. "If I surrender to you in advance, will protect me?"

" whose sole claim is to promote religion "

Doesn't that describe most churches including those with no specific anti abortion stance ?

Or would churches that also engage in charitable activities be exempt? Most churches , certainly here in the UK , do strive to help people who are not congregation members in all sorts of ways .

However preaching the Gospel is the raison d'etre of all churches .

Religions are a snare and a racket so they should pay taxes to help fund the health and social services in their country's. Instead of sitting on billions of assets.

Touchofgrey , individual church members pay taxes so fund the health and social services in their countries.

So do employees of company's pay tax to fund them and companies and corporations also pay taxes (some more than others) so why should religion's be any different?
