There were about fifteen or more 10 year old girls on the bus. They all stuck there heads out the window shouting how stupid I was.

I remember being 5-7 and my dad would let me sit on his lap and "drive" the last few miles home down the old country roads we lived on. (Even tho his had was on the bottom of the wheel to steady it, because I remember saying, "no daddy let go! I can do it!" haha!)

My mom let me drive around (again in the country) all by myself (with her in the passenger seat) when I was about 12-13. Oh my god! I thought I was so cool~

I took my formal drivers ed classes when I was 15 and got my licence at 16. I passed it (two points away from failing tho! Did a crap parrallel park, and nearly hit some pedistrians HAHA!) on my first try. I was a total wreck! In fact I put off taking my final drivers test for quite a few months. I was so freaked out!

But hell brummie, if I can do--and nearly kill people and still pass, so can you!!

I was 16 when I got mine. I'd been driving tractors and backhoe's since I was 12. I basically learned to drive when my sister was learning. I'd sit in the backseat and take it all in, my sister was always getting in trouble for not pulling off the road fast enough, when she'd turn off. Dad was always afraid someone was gonna plow into us. well I'd heard dad yell at her enough about that, that when I started driving I'd shoot off the road hahahaa, no one was gonna rear end me, hehe although dad wasn't overly fond of this technique either hmmmmm.

I'm actually a pretty good driver and even my brother in law let me drive his new car and my sister couldn't haha and they'd been married about 5 years, and when my neice was born he always wanted me to drive if we went downtown of anything. I've acutally been pretty responsible, with driving at least.

I love driving now, ohh ya especially a long winding road, all to myself, windows down, sunroof open, sun shining down through the branches of the trees hanging over the road, and good tunes ohhh ya baby, ain't nothing like it to release the stress of the day, well not too much anyway hahaha a good martini doesn't hurt.

    Ready for this.

I drove at 8 years old. My father always kept his keys in the ignition. He never locked the doors. The good ol days...

Well, I got into the car, started the car like daddy would, and I advanced and backed up in the driveway at 8 years old and all alone in the car. I always liked driving, moving around.

Later in life, I drove my parent's car without any drivers license. Late at night when my parents were in bed, after a few beers with friends, we took the car and went for a ride. You can imagine if the cops would have caught us. We done that so often. I was maybe 15 or 16. At that age, boys do all kinds of stuff just for fun.

I learned to drive a manual transmission just by looking at the bus driver shifting gears and pressing on the clutch. When I tried my first manual transmission car, It was so easy, just like the bus driver did.

Whatever I see, I can do. I must be visual.

I was 15 when I started to test drive a vehicle. I was going out with an 18 year old at the time, he had a car so he would let me drive his car out on the rural roads. It was not a problem. It really isn't that difficult. But when I got my licence I was 20 and got my licence the first time I went for the test. It's like riding a bike. Don't worry, be happy

Thanks you guys & gals, y'all make it sound so easy, and the average age for passing in the USA is 16...

If I can get through the first couple of lessons I'll be ok hopefully.

What I'm worried about is not being able to drive in a straight line...

I was sixteen, and my mom taught me. No problems. I even paralelled with no problems. After driving about 250,000 miles in seven years, I still have no accidents, but three old tickets. Haven't had a ticket in the past few years.

My wife on the other hand.....LOL

I got my full-fledged driver's license at the tender age of 15 1/2. I had to be a trainee for two weeks (an adult had to be in the car with me) before I could get it. This was in Utah about a million years ago. I took Driver's Ed and was a straight A student. For some strange reason, that State thought that straight A students were better drivers. This just goes to show that Utah is full of idiots, too.
