you guys were so young, UK requires a person to be 17 before they can even start learning to drive.

This was in Utah about a million years ago.

Farkel were you a volunteer at the district convention in Mesopotamia in 536 B-C-E? I think I may have met you.

I take the 13 year old out to a friend's farm where she drives a tractor (standard transmission). She has also been driving my dad's John Deere since 6 (also manual).

Just today I took her out driving in an empty church parking lot. She loved it.

I got my license at 16. I'm a great driver; never caused an accident but been in a few.

I got my first driver's license when I was 16 in Nhulunbuy, N.T. Australia. Dad taught me how to drive the Land Rover, and I became adept at avoiding frilled lizards, buffalo, and potholes on those lovely dirt roads. All of that experience has come in handy living in Texas, only now I'm avoiding rednecks, pickup trucks -- and potholes.
