I bet the G.B. members are paranoid about catching the Covid 19 bug and that`s why the many restrictions and don`t do this or that rules .

Can you imagine the hype that would be going around after all this is eventually over and they come out unscathed ? about how Jehovah protects his Godly people ?

i suppose in their isolated artificial world they wont have much resistance to any bug going round.

Would it be wrong to kinda-sorta hope the virus is able to make its way to them?

The family is quiet, too. No return before it's too late messages, no Armageddon around the corner and no it's the last day of the last day apps.

All quiet and that scares me šŸ˜

What options do they really have?

I absolutely refuse to feel sorry for a group of people who have a roof over their heads, food to eat, live in worry free comfort and chose to be exactly where they are. There are a lot of people who are out of work because of the pandemic and do not have the option to be bored rather than to worry how they are going to get through this crisis. These people have options. All they have to do is make a different choice. But they really don't have it as bad as many people in the world right now. So, no. I don't feel sorry for them. And I can't justify laughing at their plight when they are so well off.

    JWUNDUBBED:

I think the group of lifers he was referring to are the very very elderly. They have a secure place at bethel til the end. Not so much the younger bethelites since the religion could lay off more of them.

In general, I do not feel sorry for ANY bethelite because of ignorant and derogatory remarks (unspiritual, materialistic) they have made over the years about responsible working people in congregations!..Meanwhile, these bethelites were living off their contributions!! The JW religion made them feel smug and arrogant!

Maybe some people on this forum will make excuses or feel sorry, but I cannot. The best thing that can happen to a fired bethelite IMO is to enter the workforce, earn a living and see what the average person deals with in the REAL world! Thatā€™ll keep them from making callous and stupid remarks!

    LongHairGal ...

Generally speaking, yes. But even a couple I know in their 60's with nothing else on their resume can't be told to just leave.

    RUB A DUB:

The religion canā€™t? (As in prohibited from?)...Well, letā€™s hope for this coupleā€™s sake the religion doesnā€™t... And if the religion DOES let them go, I hope they have some emergency phone numbers of their spiritual friends in the congregations!

RUB A DUB, I predicted years ago (before the bad economy, etc.) that the Witness religionā€™s idiot policies against higher education, careers and retirement plans was going to cause BIG problems in congregations with clueless people reaching retirement age with NO preparation!..And I did not want to be anywhere near these people when reality hit them.

The JW who did my taxes saw my IRA contribution and made a scornful remark that ā€œIā€™d never see that moneyā€. I was gossiped about and people said I was ā€œnot spiritualā€. Why? Because I had a full time job and prepared for retirement!

Well, this person passed away years ago - and I am almost six years Retired!..Now the religion is downsizing and older bethelites are being sent packing into the cold night - with nothing!..Adding insult to the injury of OTHER JWs in congregations who are desperate. These local desperate JWs are usually people who had no business pioneering but should have been in the workforce!

Iā€™ll say it again for the hundredth time: I am glad I am long Out of the religion and never listened to their nonsense.
