I've never been a real huge Madonna fan but I remember watching Material Girl on the video box in the pub while I was at Manchester College. Ah, happy days.
I think she is pretty good overall as an artists and does the thing that all the greats do - CHANGE
Cmopare her too the joke of an artist Michael Jackson who is still doing the exact same act that he always did.
What I find very interesting is the reaction of some Americans to her ... any hint of 'betrayal' by an artist and people turn on them. Very sad.
I get the impression that some feel that because Madonna has chosen to live in England and says she prefers it that somehow this means her music and any opinion she expresses should be criticised. Almost like the dixie chicks but less intense.
It is not surprising that her opinions on life have changed as she has got older and now has a family ... surely that is what we all do?

Listen, I understand that she can done something very difficult in her industry. That is, stay on top for nearly 20 years.
My problem in that what she finds abhorrent for her own child, she finds no problem selling it to the children of others. Must pay for the nannies, you know! (insert fake British accent)
So, in honor of her monumental hypocrisy, she can take her high falutin' proclamations, fold them in four corners, and stuff them where the sun don't shine!

Her putting her music and her opinions out there gives anyone the right to "critique" them. I get sick of these musicians thinking that they are somehow above reproach.
