If his heart is right, no. The evidence of that is if that person continues to grow by the leadings of the Holy Spirit. But can a person believe Jesus is the Son of God and still have a heart "not right before God"? That's the question here. That would be a tragedy I'm sure you would agree.

So the heart seems to take precedence then.

    1st John -

"15Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God."

According to the same John of the gospel, as long as I confess the above then God will remain in me.

and what is confessing mean? John himself answers in the same chapter-

"2By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; 3and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God."

If I believe both of the above til I die, unlike Simon Magnus, is my heart right?

Hello breeze, I must admit that the text I quoted can be seen as you apply it, so you destroyed my point, but I have another

You say that Jesus is God and in reality the word God is not in the Bible, the word that is applied to Jesus in Greek is Θεός

Many believe that this word is equivalent to "God" (with a capital letter) but it is not so

This word was used for the creator, also to designate divine representatives such as Moses, the judges and kings of Israel (Septuagint) and it was even used for humans who received divine favors or deified humans

In our culture the word God (with a capital letter) is only used to designate the creator of the universe or supreme reality

The uses of the word Θεός of the first century do not correspond to our culture and way of speaking

We do not call "God" someone who represents God because he makes his will known

To say that Jesus is God is to confuse the listener and He doesn't know that the words when translated have different nuances

John 1:1 clearly speaks of 2 Θεός and we know that there is only one God, this is simply because the second Θεός is the nuance of representative of the father

If the word Θεός was applied to Moses, is it strange that it is applied to Jesus Christ
