Very interesting! It looks like their best growth for years. When practically all other churches are declining in western countries. JWs somehow manage to keep growing. At first I thought the change in reporting time was the explanation, but that only came in August, is that right? So it would have caught the last month perhaps. Not sure.

The number of congregations worldwide is up. Numbers continue to go up in Zambia and Memorial attendance is now over 1 million. I think that’s only the 5th country in the world to have over a million at the Memorial: United States, Brazil, Mexico, Congo, and now Zambia.

I think the change of reporting to check-a-box came with the 2023 Annual meeting. Someone correct me if I am wrong

No I think I came before that in a letter, because it struck me as odd that it seemed to be rushed out, as if they couldn’t even wait a few weeks until the end of the service year for some reason. 🤔

Changes hour reporting came with 2023 annual meeting. Changes with checking box. Getting it harder to be removed from congregation and more easy getting back. Plus pushing for children to get baptised has made a difference in numbers. Boosting statistics. They really going for quantity and not quality this day's. Wonder how old timers feel about this. Many left mainstream religion to become JWs cause of things like this. They could just have stayed in their old religions.

Okay, apparently it happened November last year! And was announced at the annual meeting. I guess I’ve not been paying attention!

So yeah, all these figures are massively impacted by that change. We need to wait to next year to see what the real ongoing rate of growth is.

Having said that, baptisms, Memorial attendance, and congregation numbers are all up. None of those figures are due to the change in reporting time.

"Lies, damned lies, and statistics." The JW.BORG business model relies & thrives on all three!

Another rise in professed annointed "partakers". At the annual meeting wasn't something said or implied like " You thought the numbers would go down and down...didn't you?...but no we should not be surprised that there are many annointed ones near 'the end'..." I'm not being serious here, but wonder if they would go back to that old teaching about there being a secondary heavenly class...that the 144,000 were gathered in the first century, the 'great crowd before the throne"will also be in heaven, and a third group that will live on earth. Wasn't that a teaching of Russell?

I heard from someone that people are still using zoom for meetings, is it now easier for pimo's with just ticking a box for ministry etc ,so they can keep contact with family and friends So do people feel theirs no need leave ?
