I think there is a formative delusion going on with the GB members like whatever they think up automatically is divinely inspired New Light , Food at the proper time because they individually came up with their own pertinent ideas.

Self assuming adoration and identification works in organized religious cults for the people who develop them.

The 1914 doctrine was once JW's most urgent draw card ( i.e., 'the generation who witnessed the start of World War One is rapidly dying out,' they declared), now it's reinterpretation (i.e., overlapping generations) is set to be come JWs most smelly foot-in-mouth utterance for their downfall.

With the demise of the 1914 generation and its stitched up replacement, urgency is seen for what it has always been: A construct dependent on human speculation.

My recollection of the broadcast was that he asked the audience "think of a scripture about the term generation" and then he mentioned one about Joseph or something like that?

They def did mention a scripture though to back up their overlapping nonsense.

Perhaps that was not this broadcast though?

They really are painting themselves into a corner with ''generations'', aren't they?

Well they're Jehovah chosen ones which god uses as his instruments of communication.

With that acknowledgement in hand no wonder they operate on a plain of delusion.

I don't think we can find a scripture or anything in an encyclopedia. Which dogmatically and ridiculously describes a ''generation'' as overlapping as these broadcasts do!!!!

nsw2g: think of a scripture about the term generation" and then he mentioned one about Joseph or something like that?---it was Exodus 1:6 " eventually Joseph died, and his brothers, and all that generation" The implication being that people of all ages were in Joseph's generation, but it was a dead generation of all ages, not continuous overlappers, the wt theory is been thoroughly debunked in previous threads.

Many years ago I played chess with a weaker opponent, and in the end game I had 5 or 6 queens on the board.( I do not remember exactly how many) Anyway, you should have seen the smile on his face when the game ended in stalemate. But during the game and before the promotions of so many pawns, I found it necessary to move my knight to another square when I saw it was in danger. After making the move, I remarked "The knight retreats." He responded by exclaiming: "The knight doesn't retreat. It roams the board! I thought to myself: "What a brilliant observation!" I had never saw it that way before and my view of the knight in a chess game changed forever.

It shows how some religions can change the doctrines and beliefs as they go along!

Whenever I see this it makes me think of an old Saturday Night Live skit, Tommy Flanigan, the pathological liar, done by Jon Lovitz. Tommy is obviously making things up as he goes along, each story more exaggerated than the last.

See, the anointed around in 1914 actually knew people that were....ummm.....born later! Yeah, that's right, they knew each other....... actually it makes them sort of the same generation, because they are....ummmm....overlapping! Yeah, overlapping! Actually the one generation hasn't passed away yet, because the anointed alive today knew anointed who lived thirty years ago......and those anointed knew the anointed who were around in 1914! Yeah, that's the ticket! One generation, just like the bible says.
